We are unlocking the mysteries of Government procurement with GovBridge, a 3-month programme, designed in collaboration with the UK Space Agency, Entrepreneurial Spark, and Exotopic, that will demystify the Government procurement process for space companies. 🚀 We’re kick starting GovBridge with a 2-day bootcamp on 13-14 August to lay the foundations for the first cohort of companies before a series of tailored action learning workshops over 3 months to develop skills and foster collaboration. 🤝 Materials and outputs from the bootcamp will be made available for the wider sector to use at a later date. GovBridge is just one of the initiatives the UK Space Agency is delivering as part of its Unlocking Space for Government programme, aiming to improve public services through innovative uses of satellite solutions. 🛰️ Stay tuned for further opportunities to get involved.

We are thrilled to finally announce that the MyCoast app is now available across all 60 RNLI lifeguarded beaches in Cornwall, just in time for the arrival of approximately five million tourists this summer! We have also launched our shiny new website www.my-coast.com Developed to transform our interaction with coastlines and reduce shore-related incidents, our distinctive data sets from top global information partners have been integrated with specific beach safety parameters from the RNLI. This has culminated in a single platform where coastal visitors can plan their safest and most enjoyable beach days. Our goal is to achieve 100,000 downloads before the end of the summer holidays, and with only 6 ½ weeks to go, we would please love your support – as an individual and through your organisation. What can you do to help? 1)      Download the app and get using it! Available in both Apple and Android app stores, please take a look, use it and ask your friends, family and neighbours to do the same! 2)      Tell us what you think…we know that people are going to love what we’ve created, but as a new app there are bound to be things we can improve upon, so please let us know using the feedback button in the app or through the ‘contact us’ page on our website. 3)      Leave a review on the app store to help tell others about our excellent features 😊 4)      Follow us on social media and share our content – we are active on both Instagram and Facebook, as well as LinkedIn. We were thrilled to welcome two very special guests to our local primary school in Ladock, Cornwall, at the end of June. Through our journey at My Coast Limited, we met Brendon Prince from the Above Water Charity and Peter Faulding from the Lucas Dobson Water Safety Campaign. Both share our passion for water safety, specifically prevention through education. With over 30 years of combined experience, Brendon and Peter have been delivering talks in schools, educating children about the dangers of our seas and waterways, and highlighting the lifesaving importance of life jackets. Brendon has reached over half a million children, and Peter has donated over 1500 lifejackets to primary schools across England. With the summer holidays ahead, Ladock School was fortunate to be included in their training! In the morning, teacher, lifeguard, and 5x world paddleboarding champion Brendon Prince delivered his interactive presentation. He explained the dangers, demonstrated the impact of cold water (on me!), and discussed the crucial 'Float To Live' safety message. The children were fully engaged, exchanging ideas and asking brilliant questions. Brendon has championed water safety education ever since witnessing three people drown on a North Cornwall beach. To emphasise the need for water safety in the curriculum, Brendon undertook an incredible endurance challenge to stand up paddleboard (SUP) the entire coast of mainland Britain - The Long Paddle. After a quick break, there was huge excitement as Peter Faulding arrived on the school field in his self-piloted helicopter. Peter is the founder of Specialist Group International Ltd, a specialist rescue and recovery company that recovers, on average, 10 drowning victims per year and works with police forces worldwide to search for missing people thought to have drowned. Following the tragic recovery of six-year-old Lucas Dobson, who drowned in the River Stour in 2019, Peter and Lucas’s dad, Nathan, set up a campaign to make lifejackets readily available in schools for children and families to use when heading out on the water. Both Brendon and Peter tirelessly champion water safety, making a difference with every lesson and event. We are delighted to have their support and endorsement of the MyCoast app, and we will continue to support and amplify their campaigns.
