The UK’s prime minister Keir Starmer visited Germany’s chancellor Olaf Scholz recently with the plan to initiate a new-cooperation agreement. Brexit has caused significant damage to our relationship with the largest economy in Europe. The idea of a partnership between the UK and Germany can only be welcome. However, it remains unclear what can be achieved and what the details will be. As the energy transition is a key issue for the UK government, a renewed partnership could enable the country to learn more about the successes (and failings) of Germany’s journey to net zero. Naked Energy can confirm that Nicholas Simmons CFO and founding member of the Board, has resigned from the Company.   As a co-founder, Nick played a crucial role in Naked Energy’s development, from product design to strategic planning and commercial success. His oversight of back-office systems and creation of financial and commercial models have been vital to the Company’s growth.   As CFO he supported the business in securing nearly £30m in grant funding and equity investment. Nick has determined that the recent successful Series B funding round, and financial strength this brings, provides an opportune moment to move on to new challenges.   Nick continues to be a shareholder and remains enthusiastic about the Company’s future as it advances its mission to decarbonise heat. He will also continue passionately advocating for sustainability and cleantech.   The Board of Directors extends its gratitude to Nick for his dedication and professionalism and wishes him the best in his future endeavours.
