🔴 Lamp columns on bridges present known – and hazardous – installation challenges 🟢Shallow foundation retention socket systems can literally prevent loss of life Bridges deserve secure, reliable lighting that doesn’t compromise safety. Traditional “cranked root” methods for street lighting installations can be risky. These traditional methods feature a non-standard design that sees the column’s base offset to fit within a shallow space. Unfortunately, this leads to instability during any excavation or maintenance work. ⚠️ This instability isn’t just a minor risk. It can (and has) come with tragic consequences – including one known fatality. Prioritise safety and efficiency with NAL. We’ve engineered a shallow foundation retention socket system specifically for bridge decks with limited installation depth. So, you can implement a reliable, compliant method for installing street lighting on bridges. 𓍙 🌉 👉 Take a look at the infrastructure problem playbook below for insights and actionable steps 👉 Get in touch with the team (Ryan Churchill / Will Hadler / James Dyer / Adam H. / Luke Gibbs) to consult with our experts 👉 Integrate this innovative “bridge deck” retention socket system into your designs to ensure regulatory compliance and enhanced structural safety . . . #BridgeSafety #InfrastructureInnovation #UrbanPlanning #StreetLighting #SafetyFirst

♀️ #IWD | Meet Audrey Abcouwer, our HR & Talent Director 👋 Tomorrow marks #InternationalWomensDay, and with it, the opportunity to reflect, recognise, and act. What can the infrastructure industry do to promote inclusivity? There’s no better way to find out than by asking inspirational women in the field. 🗪 Audrey Abcouwer sat with us to specify 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞, 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐟𝐮𝐥 steps companies can take to support women in traditionally male-dominated fields, including: 💡1. Developing clear #DEI strategies with defined objectives and accountability at leadership levels 💡 2. Addressing unconscious bias through targeted training programs and regular assessment of hiring and promotion practices 💡3. Creating inclusive workplaces by ensuring that policies around #flexibleworking, parental leave, and career development cater to diverse needs 💡 4. Leveraging digital tools and automation to improve accessibility and make traditionally ‘male’ roles more adaptable to a wider talent pool 💡5. Encouraging supplier and partner diversity by working with businesses that align with strong #diversity and #inclusion values 💡6. Regularly measuring progress by gathering employee feedback, conducting audits, and benchmarking against industry best practices For the open-question discussion on breaking barriers, read Audrey’s full-length interview here: https://lnkd.in/ed_RN_EU 👈

🔎 𝐂𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐲: Supporting the £825 million redevelopment of Paddington Square, London📍🚧 NAL products play an unsung – but essential – role across thousands of the spaces you walk and drive though all over the UK. Just one recent example is our contribution to a new shopping and dining quarter in the heart of London. In a project for Westminster City Council, our retention sockets: ✔️ Streamlined the installation of street lighting along Paddington Square’s new pedestrian walkway ✔️ Allowed civil works to be completed ahead of time, ensuring foundations were ready for lighting columns upon delivery ✔️ Maintained safety during construction with pedestrian plugs, keeping sockets sealed when not in use. This approach preserved the high-end paving's aesthetics and ensured long-term durability. As #ValentinesDay approaches, we're sharing some love for this recently completed project we supported. 𝐃𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐗-𝐋𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐛𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐝 🎥👇 Frequent damage to street furniture — particularly bollards — poses significant operational, financial, and safety challenges for asset owners, local authorities, and urban planners. With over 900 traffic incidents per day in the UK, traditional metal and concrete bollards often: ♦️ Require costly repairs ♦️ Disrupt public spaces ♦️ Introduce unnecessary safety risks The X-Last Bollard provides a future-proof solution. Engineered from a unique Elastomeric Polymer, it withstands 15000 high-force impacts. The product bends upon impact before returning to its original form within 30 minutes of even the most severe collision – all without sustaining permanent damage. As well as being virtually indestructible, the product is: 🔹 Cost-effective, minimising ongoing maintenance and replacement costs 🔹 Passively safe, with a 50% lower Head Injury Criterion than critical thresholds 🔹 50% lower environmental impact than metal bollards, plus 100% recyclable 🔹 Lightweight (6kg), with a shallow root depth (185mm) for quick and safe installation Explore how the X-Last bollard can transform your infrastructure investments here: 👇 https://lnkd.in/eyvHZ4Md #NALMonthOfLove #ProductsWeLove #UrbanInfrastructure #CityPlanning #Sustainability
