‘Sportsmen are in a position of influence, there must be a clear message from employers that this behaviour has consequences. In many other professions, offenders would face disciplinary action and sport should be no different.’ Charlotte Woodward - NCDV - National Centre For Domestic Violence

Caroline Gore was brutally murdered by her abusive partner. David Liptrot was allowed to walk free after breaching the two-year restraining order he was given for a second time; less than four weeks later Caroline was dead. "For years the UK Government has used rhetoric about “holding perpetrators of domestic abuse to account”. But this is not reflected in penalties for breaching protection orders put in place by criminal and civil courts, eroding the trust of those at risk of further abuse." Charlotte Woodward, Head of Training and Development - NCDV - National Centre For Domestic Violence. A teenager has shared her experience of living in fear of her violent stepfather while growing up in a domestic abuse household. "To anyone else, he seemed like the perfect guy, he had a way with words and he was like everyone's best friend. Everyone loved him, but behind the closed doors, he was horrible."
