Did you know… UHUK members like us take more than 1.1 million Out of Hours and NHS 111 calls every month. We alone deal with 180,000 clinical assessments each year. Each one of those calls is potentially a patient who won’t need to call an ambulance or visit A&E – freeing up those services for those facing an emergency. It works by triaging patients and directing them to the most appropriate urgent care and advice. By treating and caring for people in community based services, members prevent non-essential hospital admissions. Did you know… UHUK members operate on a budget of around 0.3% (less than half of one percent) of the NHS budget? These NHS providers divert millions of patients away from overstretched ambulances, A&E departments and GPs via services including out of hours and clinical assessment, urgent primary care, NHS 111, virtual wards, palliative care, and A&E triage and treatment.
