Another successful day for Women in Network Plus - one of many since the group was launched four years ago. The network now has nearly 250 members, and Network Plus is an even better place to work because of what the group and its members stand for, and what they bring to the business 365 days a year. #womeninutilities #womeninleadership
What a day! The first of our Women in Network Plus March Events was held in Worsley yesterday and what engaging sessions we had! The March events are around the #IWD theme of #accelerateaction and some interesting and passionate discussions were had on how we #accelerateaction even more at Network Plus through our Group. Thanks also to our great guest speakers Jennifer Gray & Lucy S. from Cadent Gas Limited, so inspirational! This is the first of three events taking place this month, next up Derby and then Bristol.

𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗲𝗹 𝗽𝗼𝗱𝗰𝗮𝘀𝘁: 𝗜𝘁’𝘀 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗮 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗰𝘂𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗶𝘁’𝘀 𝗮 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻! Our first Network Plus panel-style podcast is a must-listen for #RespectOurWorkforceWeek. 👩🚒 With abuse, aggression and violence towards highways and utilities workers on the rise, host Andrew Donnelly is joined by #StampitOut campaign pioneer Kevin Robinson, health and safety professional Ellen Ludwig from Network Plus and traffic management supervisor Steve Day from Go Traffic Management Limited (GTM) Ltd – each of them determined to make a difference. A recent Safer Highways survey revealed a staggering statistic: 60% of respondents from the highways sector reported experiencing abuse in the course of their work. Even more alarming, 25% of these individuals are actively seeking employment outside the industry due to this abuse. These numbers, and our panellists, highlight an urgent need for change and support for frontline workers. In this eye-opening episode, they share: 📍 Real stories. Hear first-hand accounts of worker abuse that starkly illustrate this critical issue. 📍 Shocking statistics. Discover the scale of the problem through compelling data that underscores the urgency for action. 📍 Effective strategies. Learn about new approaches that are being, and can be, introduced to combat abuse and foster a safer work environment. 📍 Open communication. Understand why encouraging open dialogue is essential for addressing these challenges head-on. This is not just a discussion, it’s a call to action. 🎙️ Watch on YouTube: https://lnkd.in/e83K3F_c 🎧 Listen on Spotify: https://lnkd.in/e-gvjNT3 Have you ever experienced abuse while doing your job? Your voice matters, and we encourage you to share your experiences as we work together towards creating a safer and more respectful workplace. At the heart of these plans is having the right people in the right place, and to achieve this we are investing heavily in Overhead Lines (OHL) trainees, apprenticeships and recruitment. In addition, 58 Filippino linespeople have been recruited by Network Plus to work on contracts across the UK. At Network Plus we've been promoting #NationalCareersWeek internally throughout the week. But what does a career in #utilities look like from the outside? “It’s exciting, it's fast-paced," says our CEO Kevin Fowlie. "If you're someone who doesn't like the routine of two days being the same, it's a good place to be. “If it's snowing, we're busy. If it's raining, we're busy. If it's windy, we're busy. If it's sunny, we're busy. “Any potential role you can think of within any business exists within utility companies or contracting organisations like Network Plus. I've known people who've come in to a finance role and ended up running contracts operationally, doing things that they would never dream of doing. “It's almost as if you can have an entire portfolio career just at one business if you really want to.” Watch the video and hear from Kevin and fellow senior leaders Victoria Grayson and Dave Trotter about careers in utilities. #NCW2025 #utilitiescareers #utilitiesjobs

We're so proud to be associated with this project 😊. In this industry you can't make an omelette without cracking an egg, so we very much appreciate the patience and understanding of those most inconvenienced by the works. Ultimately, it's about the customer and we hope local communities will see the benefits for years to come. #utilities #waterindustry #sustainability
Last Friday we were delighted to welcome Reigate and Banstead MP Rebecca Paul and local Cllr Rich Michalowski to our Gatton Park site. Our work to replace both the 20” and 7” water pipes that run along Gatton Park Road is progressing well and still on track to complete in May. Since closing the road on 6 January we’ve laid a quarter of the total new piping and have also started re-instating the road with tarmac where the new pipe has been laid. We're thankful for everyone's patience in the local community whilst we continue the work on both mains.
