Congratulations Emirates👏 The airline recently celebrated flying its three millionth passenger between Newcastle Airport and Dubai. Since launching the route in 2007, passengers have enjoyed Emirates’ excellent service, not only on journeys to Dubai but also on connecting flights to destinations, including Thailand, Australia and Indian Ocean Islands. The airline’s cargo operations also continue to boost trade in the North East. Over the last 10 years, over 20,000 tonnes have been uplifted from Newcastle driving more growth and investment in the region. Book your next adventure with Emirates 👉 https://bit.ly/4cuA20D

We were delighted to meet with representatives from British Embassy The Hague and Department for Business and Trade to discuss international trade, connectivity and the value of our Amsterdam service. The route between Newcastle and Amsterdam has been a long-standing connection and with up to six daily flights with easyJet and KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, the service continues to be extremely popular with the region's business and leisure passengers. The Netherlands is an important strategic market for the North East of England and we are proud Newcastle continues to be one of the best-connected UK cities to the country.

🤝 Working together to keep our passengers and staff safe. Thank you to Counter Terrorism Policing North East for delivering their See, Check and Notify (SCaN) training session at our airport. The programme helps organisations maximise safety and security using their existing resources. It also empowers staff to know what suspicious activity to look for and what to do when they encounter it. We took part in the session alongside business partners and Northumbria Police.

Branching out to a greener future 💚 We were delighted to join representatives from Woolsington Parish Council to see the progress of our fantastic environmental projects in Abbotswood. The area of woodland is owned by the Airport and is used by the local community for recreational purposes. We checked up on our recent tree planting projects, reviewed the wildflowers and stopped by the bug hotel, hedgehog houses and bat sanctuaries. We also discussed some exciting projects which we will be working on together over the coming months.
