Market leaders in business support services to the NHS for finance & accounting, workforce and procurement solutions.
About us
NHS Shared Business Services (NHS SBS) was created in 2004 by the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) to deliver corporate services to the NHS. A unique joint venture with Sopra Steria, a European leader in digital services and software development, we make life easier for NHS employees, patients and suppliers, and deliver value for money to the taxpayer. Proud members of the NHS family, we provide finance & accounting, procurement and workforce services to more than half the NHS in England. Co-created with and for those who use them, our shared solutions are informed by big data and powered by cutting-edge technologies, delivering efficiency, effectiveness and resilience at levels unachievable for organisations working alone. Our partnership approach to every project is underpinned by our teams’ expertise, in-depth understanding of the NHS, and commitment to service excellence. We share common values and unity of purpose with the rest of the NHS family, and our employees are empowered to question, test, and solve the challenges the NHS faces as it transforms to meet the needs of the 21st century. Our human resources colleagues were ready to make a difference recently when they joined The Bread and Butter Thing team to redistribute vital food - food that would go to waste and get dumped into landfill if it wasn’t rescued and repurposed. Megan said “I loved my day helping out and I saw first hand how reliant they are at the Bread and Butter Thing on their corporate volunteers. Team morale was high, everyone had a smile on their face and I took pride in helping as I knew I was making a real difference.” Louise said “They are such a great team running this charity, they should be so proud of themselves. It was very enjoyable and highly rewarding and to be able to use one of my corporate volunteering days was great.” People are the heartbeat of Social Value at NHS SBS. We want to make lasting changes that benefit our colleagues, our communities and the NHS, starting with our teams. Volunteering, fundraising, learning and development, equity, diversity and inclusion and wellbeing are all key areas of focus in the Healthy People pillar at NHS SBS with three days of volunteering opportunities for colleagues every year. https://ow.ly/gYMu50TXOrW
