Can we all please welcome Craig Murney who is one of our Role Model of the Year Finalists sponsored by Print Inc Embroidery & Print. Craig was presented with his Certificate by Buster Bown of Thales We caught up with Craig to find out a bit more about him: "I served in the British Army, Royal Corps of Signals for 13 years." "It is an honour to be considered a role model at all, never mind for veterans." "I do what I can to help service leavers and veterans avoid the same pitfalls and mistakes that I made in my transition to civilian street over 11 years ago." "I enjoy being the Armed Forces Champion for NHS National Services Scotland (NSS). The role allows me to help people in more ways than just employment advice." "My best achievement would be leading a digital transformation project that allowed police officers to access systems using a mobile app. This enables them to complete reports while out on the street without time lost returning to their respective stations. This saves considerable time, resulting in greater police presence on the streets of Scotland." "Almost five years on, the project continues to exceed expectations and cost savings" Good luck to Craig and all the amazing Finalists we can't wait to celebrate with you on the night itself! #veteransawards #veterans #military

  • NSS has been nominated as Employer of the Year at the Scottish Veterans Awards 2025.   We’re delighted that our commitment to support our colleagues who serve, or have served, in the Armed Forces has been recognised. In June 2024 we signed the Armed Forces Covenant, and we are the proud recipients of the Armed Forces Employer Recognition Scheme Gold Award.   We’re also happy to announce that our NSS colleagues, Craig Murney and Graham McEwan, have received nominations – for Role Model of the Year and Reservist of the Year.   Craig, for his tireless work in supporting service leavers into employment and Graham for his decades of service as a reservist.   Good luck to all the nominees – the work you do is invaluable. • This week is Neurodiversity Celebration Week 🧠 It’s a chance to break down stereotypes and misunderstandings about neurodevelopmental conditions and learning differences. And with approximately 15% of individuals in the UK being neurodivergent, it’s something we can all learn about. Autism and ADHD are the most widely known conditions, but there are many more that come under the umbrella of neurodiversity such as: -Dyslexia: A set of processing difficulties that affect the acquisition of reading and spelling -Dyscalculia: A persistent difficulty with understanding numbers  -Dyspraxia: A common disorder that affects movement and coordination A person might have two, three, or even more conditions simultaneously and everyone may experience neurodiversity uniquely. How these conditions affect individuals can evolve over time and with life experiences. Find out more about how you can provide support for neurodiverse people 👇 ✅ Supporting neurodiverse people - Change Mental Health: https://lnkd.in/excKpVA4. ✅ Understanding neurodiversity - Neurodiversity at work - Acas: https://lnkd.in/eGD-WV9y #NeurodiversityCelebrationWeek

  • As we come to the end of the winter season, it’s important to remember that following Standard Infection Control Precautions (SICPs) is essential all year round - to help prevent infection in healthcare settings across NHSScotland. Using SICPs is essential for NHS colleagues - whether infection is known to be present or not. Following these procedures year-round, helps to support the health of the people of Scotland and reduce pressure on NHS services.  For more information, visit the National Infection Prevention and Control Manual ✅https://lnkd.in/eRh92cST #StoptheSpread #WinterPreparedness
