In 2024, it is estimated that nearly 300 million people will need humanitarian aid - that's 4% of the world's human population (ReliefWeb 2024). The United Nations stated that 2023 was the deadliest year on record for humanitarian workers, with 2024 on track to be even worse. These facts are difficult to hear, but the reality is that the world is failing humanitarian workers, and by extension the people and communities they serve. Today, on World Humanitarian Day, we pause to honour the remarkable individuals who dedicate their lives to helping others. This day also serves as a reminder of those who have lost their lives whilst working to make the world a better place. At NKD we wish to commemorate these humanitarians and support humanitarian causes that are close to our hearts. ❤️ We'd love to encourage our network to look out for grassroots and international humanitarian organisations you can support that are making a difference on the ground for the people they serve. Hybrid work has offered many employees more flexibility and a better 'work-life' balance. But what about its impact on team productivity? New research from Gallup involving 2,877 US-based hybrid workers revealed significant opportunities for enhancing hybrid team productivity.
