We’re excited to announce that Nolato has joined FibRe, the Vinnova Competence Center dedicated to pushing the boundaries of lignocellulose-based materials. As part of Phase II, we are joining forces with an impressive lineup of partners from both academia and industry to explore new frontiers in fiber modification, advanced characterization, and predictive processing. Phase I laid the groundwork by enhancing fiber deformability through plasticization and chemical modification. Now, Phase II will take things further by reaching higher technical readiness levels (TRL 3-4) and integrating techno-economic considerations into the research. With industry-led demonstrator projects in extrusion/injection molding and thermoforming, this phase aims to bridge fundamental research and real-world applications.
