We are delighted to have been shortlisted for seven awards at this year's Scottish Gin Awards! Downpour Scottish Dry is up for London Dry Gin of the Year, while last year's New Product of the Year, Coast and Croft, is in the running for Distilled Gin of the Year. Our zippy Pink Grapefruit is itching to bring home Old Tom Gin of the Year, and fruity fave, Sloe & Bramble is looking fighting fit in Gin Liqueur of the Year. In the business categories we're shortlisted for Excellence in Branding, Gin Tourist Destination of the Year, and the big one... Scottish Gin Distillery of the year 2024. We're up against some fantastic competition in every category, and can't wait to get our glad rags on and celebrate with the best in the industry and this year's award ceremony. Slàinte!

After making some modifications to our beautiful B-listed home to get it distillery ready, the first pieces of equipment through the door (well, the roof) were these five wooden washbacks. Made from the finest douglas fir courtesy of Joseph Brown Vats of Dufftown, these beauties were chosen for their effect on flavour originating from the micro organisms which embed themselves in the wood over time, giving our wash a distinctive 'house' style. #whisky #scotchwhisky #hebrideanwhiskytrail #outerhebrides #BCorp

It’s been an exciting time here at North Uist Distillery | Certified B-Corp as our whisky production equipment continues to arrive on site. Nunton Steadings - our historic brand home perched on the edge of the Atlantic – is slowly but surely being transformed into Scotland’s most westerly whisky distillery. Over the coming weeks and months, we’ll share progress updates as we edge ever closer to production of our single-malt, bere barley whisky. We are delighted to announce that Downpour gin is now available in global travel retail for the very first time. We have partnered with MMI - Maritime and Mercantile International to launch award-winning Downpour gin in Le Clos - Finest Wines & Luxury Spirits stores at Dubai Airports. Available to international travellers across Le Clos’ nine stores in Terminals 1 and 3 at DBX will be three unique expressions: Downpour Scottish Dry Gin - A big, bold, citrus forward gin with long spiced notes to finish; Downpour Coast & Croft Gin – An elegant dry gin inspired by wild sea botanicals and small Hebridean crofts; and Downpour Sloe & Bramble Gin –aged in bourbon casks for an unmistakable finish that delivers complex & rich fruity flavours.

We're all for a slow start to the new year, especially following the whirlwind of the festive season that sees the distillery turn into a veritable Santa's grotto of boxes, bags and bottles. It's with much excitement that we wave off our Gin Ambassador Hazel as she starts her journey to Dubai, to represent Downpour at MMI - Maritime and Mercantile International's 'The BIG TASTE' at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group. As Dubai gets ready for Cop28 at the end of the month, we're delighted to bring our B Corp certified gin to this amazing event full of producers focusing on sustainability in the drinks industry and to continue bringing a burst of island flavour to new and exciting (g)international destinations!
