Applications to the ScreenSkills Trainee Finder 2025-2026 programme are now open for those looking to start their careers in film and TV. This year, the ScreenSkills Children’s TV, Film and High-end TV Skills Funds are teaming up to deliver a single ScreenSkills Trainee Finder programme, so that trainees can build experience across multiple genres, and develop broader skills and placement opportunities across the UK. Since its launch in 2016, ScreenSkills’ Trainee Finder has supported over 1,500 people to complete over 3500+ placements to continue their careers in the screen industries. Participants have been placed on films including #AllOfUsStrangers, Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, #Living, #TheOutrun, #TheWaspQuantumania and #WeLiveinTime and high-end TV productions such as #BlackMirror, #BlueLights, #BoilingPoint, #Brassic, #MrBatesvsPostOffice and #SherwoodS2. Children's productions taking trainees include #AndyandtheBand, #SoAwkward, #MollyandMack, #TheFamousFive and #TheSecretLifeofBoys. Those accepted onto the programme will also receive training in health and safety and how to manage finances as well as be provided with networking opportunities and given industry masterclasses to improve employability.
