We're proud to say that today our new Community Diagnostic Centre in the heart of Scunthorpe Town Centre is fully up and running - allowing us to offer up to 150,000 additional tests every year. In this video, our Head of Ultrasound, Arabella Rockstro, explains more about the ultrasound scans (non-pregnancy related) we will be offering at the centre. Here you will also be able to undergo diagnostic tests including CT scans, blood, cardiology, and lung function tests, as well as X Rays - and, throughout the day, we will be sharing further videos featuring clinical leads for these teams taking you around their areas. It's not just a case of dropping in - if your GP thinks you need to undergo one of these tests, they will make a referral and we will be in touch to arrange your appointment. But it does mean that you won't need to come to our hospital site and, where possible, if you need multiple tests, we will try and arrange for them to be done on the same day - so you only need to come once.

🌟 Overcome your “poo” embarrassment, says bowel screening team! 🌟 It's Bowel Cancer Awareness Month in April and it's time to prioritize your health. Everyone aged 50 to 74 is eligible for bowel screening every two years 📅 and the test is sent automatically to your home. Bowel cancer is one of the most common cancers in the UK, yet only 69% of people send back their tests. 😱 Early treatment can save lives, so let's change that! Paula Brown, Programme Manager for Humber and Yorkshire Coast Bowel Cancer Screening Centre, urges you to do your test at home. 🏠 It's painless, easy, and you can do it in the privacy of your own toilet. 🚽 The faecal immunochemical test (FIT) examines a sample of your poo for blood, one of the signs of bowel cancer. 🩸 Our team at Castle Hill Hospital in Cottingham and Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital in Grimsby is here to support you. 💪 Specialist nurses, doctors, and admin staff are ready to help if your home test shows abnormal levels of blood in your poo. Remember, just under 2% of people required further testing in 2021/22. Chances are high you won't need anything until your next FIT test in two years. But it's crucial to do the home test first! 🧪 Let's beat bowel cancer together! 💙 #BowelCancerAwareness #ScreeningSavesLives #OvercomeEmbarrassment
