About us
Our purpose as a Council continues to be Leading Nottingham. This is even more important as we work through difficult economic conditions to drive sustained improvement across our city. We will continue to work with our partners to deliver the priorities described in the Nottingham Plan to 2020, breaking the cycle of poverty and making sure local people benefit from the city’s wealth. The Nottingham Plan was developed by partners in One Nottingham, our local communities, businesses and citizens. It sets out what Nottingham should look like in the future and how we can make it happen. In celebration of #NationalSupportedInternshipDay yesterday, this is what Sally, our Supported Internship Co-ordinator, had to say ⬇ 🌟 "I had the pleasure of meeting with tutors and interns from Nottingham College and Anna from DFN Project SEARCH at the Left Lion. Meeting these inspirational interns and working with the dedicated tutors is definitely a highlight of my job. "A special shout out to Harley, who started the Project SEARCH Programme in September and is now in paid employment with the hospital! It was heartwarming to see him out shopping in town, enjoying his hard-earned wages. "Seeing the Council House lit up in orange was a beautiful sight." 🧡

Nottingham City Transport now has an amazing 48 electric buses in its fleet, thanks to government funding secured by Nottingham City Council and investment by NCT. Look out for them on navy line 48 from this weekend! 🚌
Last Friday, NCT unveiled its latest zero emission electric buses at a public launch in Clifton. The event was attended by Nottingham South MP Lilian Greenwood and the Sandall family, who one of the new buses is named after. The introduction of these electric buses to Navy Line marks a significant investment in the Clifton bus fleet, bringing the total number of electric buses in our fleet to 48 – the same number as the route that five of the buses will run on! These new buses are now running on Navy Line 3, 3A and will be introduced on Navy Line 48 starting Sunday 30th March. Passengers will enjoy a quieter, more comfortable ride with extra legroom, air conditioning, and improved accessibility. Read the full story here: https://lnkd.in/eZa8_BFW
