It is time to say a fond farewell to our friend and colleague kevin King, who retired at the end of October. Kevin has been a valuable member of the Notts Sport team since 2010. His contributions to the ChildsPlay department, serving various locations across Scotland, have been greatly appreciated. Throughout his time here, he has played a vital role in maintaining a solid relationship with Glasgow City Council. He is now looking forward to new challenges, such as improving his game and lowering his handicap, and, of course, spending more time with his family (as long as they, too, are on the golf course). We are planning to celebrate Kev's retirement the Notts Sport way later this month, giving everyone a chance to show our appreciation for a great team member. We wish Kev all the best for his retirement and will miss his opinions about how the England football team could improve their game.

On 26th September, we proudly hosted our 7th Annual Golf Day in memory of Jack Patrick, raising vital funds for Help for Heroes. Despite early concerns about the unpredictable weather, by 9:00 AM, the clouds parted, and we were greeted with sunshine, allowing the event to get off to a great start at the Lutterworth Golf Club. Although the 18-hole course was cut short due to an unexpected bout of thunder and lightning, the participants still had a fantastic time. After the game, guests enjoyed a light dinner in the club's stunning new clubhouse, where the atmosphere was filled with camaraderie and celebration. A huge congratulations to Team Midstream Lighting, who claimed their first victory at the Notts Sport Golf Day. Special recognition also goes to Jan Skrzypkowski from Halliday Lighting , winner of the Longest Drive, and Midstreams Lee Dixon, who triumphed in the Nearest the Pin competition. We are deeply grateful to all participants for their incredible generosity and support, which made the day a resounding success. We look forward to welcoming everyone back next year for another memorable event! Thank you for helping us make a difference.

We are delighted to announce the successful completion of a 3G pitch at Henley Green Primary School.  The school and community have long needed a high-quality space where children and residents can engage in sports and physical activities. Groundwork and Leisure Services installed the 3G pitch, which offers a safe, durable, and versatile playing surface. "We are thrilled to have partnered with Henley Green Primary School on this transformative project," said Tom Walton, Head of Multi-Sport. "Our goal is to create environments where young people can enjoy sports and physical activities to the fullest." In addition to benefiting the students, the new pitch will also be available for community use outside school hours. This will provide local sports teams, clubs, and residents access to a top-quality facility, fostering a sense of community and encouraging active lifestyles among people of all ages. This initiative aligns with the ongoing work of Sky Blues in the Community, a charity affiliated with Coventry City Football Club. Sky Blues in the Community works tirelessly within #Coventry to improve the lives of residents through sports, health, inclusion, and education programs. The new 3G pitch will be valuable in supporting these efforts, providing a venue for various community programs and events. Dave Busst from Sky Blues in the Community said, "SBITC have been working alongside Henley Green (MOAT HOUSE COMMUNITY TRUST MHCT) with Dianne and Clive for over ten years to provide opportunities for young people across the WHEM area. The new 3G will provide first-class facilities for young people to enjoy sport and physical activity within a safe and secure environment." The inauguration of the #3Gpitch was marked by a celebratory event attended by students, staff, parents, local dignitaries, and community members.
