Specialists in provision of daily living aids, community equipment, telecare, wheelchair services and clinical services

About us

NRS Healthcare is committed to improving people's quality of life and independence every day, through the provision of daily living aids and assistive technology equipment. Our products and services help people who are living with long term health conditions, disabilities and special needs to carry out everyday tasks and to retain independence and mobility. We are the UK's leading provider of Integrated Community Equipment Services, working on behalf of the NHS and local authorities to deliver over 1 million items of essential equipment to over 250,000 homes each year. This crucial equipment helps people to live independently at home, and prevents hospital/care home admission and extended hospital stays. We also provide and repair wheelchairs on behalf of the NHS, for approximately 60,000 people in 5 English counties and the whole of Northern Ireland. Our Clinical Services division supports the business with a team of Occupational Therapists and Assistants, and provides Occupational Therapy based services to local authorities. Recent projects have included reviews of double handed care packages and seating assessments. Our Safe+Well Service operates locally in several areas of the UK, and is designed to help people find out what daily living aids could help them, where to try them out locally and where to buy them. We also offer an end-to-end telecare and assistive technology service, providing triage and assessments, installation, servicing and collection of equipment, and monitoring and response. Our clinically led service helps local authorities increase the use of telecare as a solution for supporting independent living, both for self funding service users and when funded by NHS/Council. Our Product Division offers a range of over 3000 daily living aids for purchase by members of the public, care homes, Councils, schools, and hospitals, as well as mobility retailers. Visit www.nrshealthcare.co.uk for easy online ordering. We are proud members of the British Healthcare Trades Association (BHTA) and adhere to their Code of Practice, which is approved by the Trading Standards Institute. Are you a carer in Brighton? Or, do you know someone who is?   We are hosting a free Moving People at Home session for carers in Brighton, in partnership with THE CARERS CENTRE FOR BRIGHTON & HOVE LIMITED. The session will highlight the importance of back care, provide information on good moving and handling practice alongside a practical element where you can see demonstrations of using moving and handling equipment safely, along with some useful short videos. There will be an opportunity to ask questions about safe practice. Denise, one of our Occupational Therapy Assistant’s with vast experience in this area, will be running the session with Community Engagement Lead Sarah Rodgers, who helps support people to remain independent and safe at home, and their carer’s.   To book, please contact The Carers Centre by emailing events@thecarerscentre.org or calling 01273 746222 and say you’d like to attend the NRS Moving People at Home session.

What an incredible week it has been! We are still so thrilled and honoured to be the recipient of the Service and Transformation Award from the TSA – The voice of technology enabled care #ITEC2024.   The winning West Sussex hospital discharge service was set up with funding aimed at reducing Hospital Winter Pressures for 3 months. NRS Healthcare technicians were located in local hospitals and able to discharge patients with a TEC Solution on the day, supporting their recovery where they want to be most, in their own home.   So far, the project has:   ➡️Increased availability of beds for the people who need them most.   🏥1153 people benefitting from timely hospital discharge typically 1-5 days earlier than without TEC.   👩⚕️586 practitioners receiving additional information and advice.   ⏱️282 hours of clinical time saved.   📈Savings for the NHS of up to £3.4m.   Due to the success of the project, it was renamed from “Winter Pressures” to “Go safe” as the impact was so positive, funding was renewed and it continued beyond the winter months. The project continues in a similar but improved guise, over 18 months later.   During the exciting 2 days of the TSA ITEC Conference, our team of clinical and industry professionals met with attendees across the TEC Sector discussing ways in which NRS Healthcare can support organisations to deliver a transformative and innovative TEC Service.   Our Clinical Excellence Director Rachel Hutchinson took to the stage to deliver a powerful opening speech at the Gala Dinner in the evening and our Chief Community Services Officer Graeme Fotheringham presented the winners for the Workforce Development Award, which we were proud recipients of last year.   We would like to thank our dedicated West Sussex Team for their incredible work in achieving these amazing outcomes for all people involved, our partners at the NHS and WSCC, and most importantly our service users, who are at the heart of everything we do.   A special mention to the TSA – The voice of technology enabled care for hosting another great event!   If you would like to learn more about the Gosafe project, then please contact our Head Technology Enabled Care Emma Quest or our Head of Innovation and Partnerships James Lampert #NRSHealthcare #TechnologyEnabledCare #TSA #ITEC2024

As part of Careers Week, the team at Doncaster visited students at New College Doncaster to talk about Occupational Therapy and the varied career path it offers. Our Occupational Therapist and a Regional Clinical Lead, Emma Newton and OTA Anita talked to A Level students about life as an OT, and the pair joined by Sophie Norris took pieces of community equipment, which students had the chance to use. Community Engagement Lead Hayleigh Nash was happy to step in at the last minute to provide a talk to carers about the services NRS offers and how to access them. Hayleigh also spoke to those attending Greenwich Carers Centre on Friday 15th March, about the Community Equipment Service in London and NRS as a wider business. They had originally been expecting health and safety training from another organisation, however, due to unforeseen circumstances, this was postponed. Hayleigh said: “I was delighted to be able to help out at the last minute and meet carers in the community to tell them more about what is available to their loved ones. Everyone I spoke with said they found the session extremely useful and informative despite originally expecting to hear about health and safety." #NRSHealthcare
