Since starting our sustainability journey in 2020, over the past four years, we have concentrated on evolving our practices, setting policies, and fostering a Green Team and a culture focused on sustainability. In the decade from 2024 onward, our goal is to significantly reduce emissions as we progress towards Net Zero. It was an exciting day at our #HylldenHeights Care Home as the residents had a wonderful visit from the local fire station crew, and they couldn't be happier!🚒 The firefighters took the time to share insights about their daily routines and answered many of the residents' curious questions. A special highlight was hearing stories from one of the residents, an ex-fire chief, adding a personal touch to the visit. Our #MaplewoodCourt Care Home was thrilled to welcome #CreepyClaws, who brought an array of animals for the residents to learn about and enjoy. 🐍🦙🕷️ From Tarantulas to adorable Chinchillas, Pythons, and the unique Tenrec, there was something for everyone! While the Tarantulas might have been a bit too creepy for some, the smiles and enthusiasm came through! Did you know that our #ElsyngHouse Care Home has a Men's Club? Our male residents have come together to prepare for Spring! 🔨🪵 This week, the Men's Club has been hard at work getting ready for the season. With the assistance of Kacper, our maintenance manager, and Mashkoor, our carer, the group has been busy building beautiful birdhouses to welcome their feathered friends as the weather warms up. 🔨🪵 This project supports local wildlife and provides a fantastic opportunity for teamwork, creativity, and good old-fashioned conversation over wood and nails! 🔨🪵 We look forward to seeing the birdhouses in their garden, where they will offer a safe and cosy home for birds this Spring. Residents at our #BeechwoodGrove Care Home enjoyed a wildlife talk in celebration of National Hedgehog Day! 💚🦔 During the discussion, they learned fun facts about hedgehogs, ways to help them thrive, and the important work that East Sussex Wildlife Rescue and Ambulance Service (WRAS) does to support hedgehogs in need. Did you know Beechwood Grove supports this charity by collecting and donating newspapers for hedgehog bedding? A simple way to help keep rescued hedgehogs warm and comfortable during their recovery.
