The grief doesn't ever completely go away, and sometimes the feelings can be as intense as when someone first died. Tips to support grieving friends and family from a Funeral Celebrant. When consoling a grieving friend or family member, really try to avoid imposing control on the conversation. Instead, empower them to lead the discussion. Allow them to bring up things they want to talk about and encourage them to continue the conversation. Validate what they're saying, but avoid reframing their expressions of grief in a positive or more comfortable light. By being there in the manner they need, you offer genuine support during their challenging journey of grief. Your empathetic understanding provides comfort and solace in their time of need. Processing grief is hard, and it can get uncomfortable at times. If you're there for them in the way they need you, you'll provide better help. Take care, Denise

The relationship between people and their animals is a unique and wonderful thing.
