“It’s impossible, with a conscience, to ignore the challenges in society.” – John Barneby FRSA, CEO of Oasis Community Learning. At Oasis, we believe schools are more than just places of learning – they are the heart of the community. Our school-based hubs provide opportunities for our young people and families, offering everything from mental health support and career advice to safe spaces and free meals. Through our work, we’ve seen first-hand how youth hubs can transform lives. Oasis Academy MediaCityUK, for example, provided 18,000 meals to the local community in one school year alone, helping to boost school attendance and build stronger connections with families. As Labour’s 'Young Futures' programme looks to roll out youth hubs across the UK, we’re proud to lead the way. Could our model be the foundation for Sure Start 2.0? We think so. Let’s continue building communities where every child and family can thrive. Read more about our hubs in this Schools Week piece - https://lnkd.in/ebQ4_xeQ

About us
For over a decade Oasis Community Learning has been helping children reach and realise their potential, with the vision of providing “exceptional education at the heart of the community”. All 49 of our Academies are committed to achieving this vision through developing character, competence and sense of community with every child. We aim to provide a rich educational experience underpinned by our philosophy of education; inspirational leadership, deep learning and healthy communities. We hold an expansive vision of the role that education can play in contributing to building strong and vibrant communities and our Academies are all part of community hubs. This wider educational experience is an important feature of our Academies. Born out of the global charity Oasis, the overarching ethos is reflected throughout the Oasis family; Equality, Inclusion, Healthy Relationships, Hope and Perseverance. Results Day is just around the corner! 🎓📅 Our new blog offers valuable tips on managing stress and staying positive during times of uncertainty. While this can be an anxious time for students, it is also a reminder for all of us that the results we receive- whether in exams, work, or life- do not define our worth. Whether you're awaiting exam results, a job interview outcome, or any other significant life event, remember that there are always options and new opportunities ahead. Embrace the journey, learn from the experience, and keep moving forward! Read more in our latest blog here: https://bit.ly/3WBaYhW #ResultsDay #SelfCare #Positivity #Resilience #GrowthMindset
