#OasysGSA is a flexible tool that allows engineers to easily adjust throughout the design process, fully exploring the range of available options🔍. The Tower of Light in Manchester exemplifies this application. The 40-meter-tall cooling tower, supporting and enclosing five exhaust flues of a new Combined Heat and Power (CHP) energy center, required a detailed 3D finite element model to understand its structural performance. With #GSA, the tower’s unique perforated shell design was optimised to reflect stress flow and reduce susceptibility to dynamic responses like vortex shedding, ensuring stability and safety under various environmental conditions.
