The first of the changes to charity law contained in the Charities (Regulation and Administration) (Scotland) Act 2023 came into effect on 1 April 2024. Next year, there will be changes to the rules that automatically disqualify someone from undertaking certain functions within a charity. The Charities Act 2023 will extended the range of offences that disqualify someone, and the rules will also apply to staff or volunteers with a senior management function, not just trustees. We want to hear your opinions on key aspects of the changes. Your views will help to inform our decision-making process, and will ensure that the changes to charity law are implemented in the most effective way.
