Every year, #UEGWeek is bringing together professionals from the healthcare sector to present and discuss the latest advancements in #gastroenterology. Olympus was proud to be part of this year’s congress in Vienna. As part of our presence, Miquel-Àngel García, Dr. Karsten Klose and Peter Mountney had the opportunity to share our solutions and vision for the future of endoscopy with European journalists, also hosting renowned gastroenterologist Dr. Ed Seward to offer his perspective as a clinician. One aspect of Olympus’ proposition of an intelligent endoscopy ecosystem are our new cloud-based AI devices, which have just received CE approval under the European Medical Device Regulation. At #Olympus, we’re all about creating opportunities for growth. And that doesn’t just mean climbing the ladder – it can also mean moving into new areas that align with your passions. A great example is Alex, who recently transitioned from our Customer Care team to a new role in Financial Controlling in our Nordic region. After excelling in Customer Service, Alex was ready to take on fresh challenges and explore the financial side of the business. Two key drivers behind this successful shift were Alex’s attention to detail and the ability to learn quickly – skills that have been very helpful in understanding the complexities of Financial Controlling. With the support of our internal development programs and colleagues, Alex has made the switch successfully. See what Alex has to say about his journey in the visual below! ⬇️ Alex’s experience shows that at Olympus, your career growth isn’t just about moving up – it’s also about moving in new directions that fit your strengths and goals. We’re proud of Alex and can’t wait to see his continued success with the finance team! #Careers #Development #Growth #Internalmobility

Believe it or not: 3,036 employees from around the world joined the Olympus #dressinblue2024 internal fundraising campaign in March. 💙 Does that hashtag ring a bell? March is international colorectal cancer awareness month. This year, for the second time in a row, our employees raised awareness of this preventable disease and collected money by wearing blue clothes and sharing a picture of it. Thanks to their incredible participation, Olympus supports selected non-profit organizations across the globe. In EMEA, we are donating 4,570 euros to the initiative “patientenhilfe darmkrebs”, which aims to financially support colorectal cancer patients in need. Enjoy the video to get an idea of this year's #ColorectalCancerAwarenessMonth at Olympus 👇

In Europe alone, around 14 million women are affected by #Endometriosis – yet statistically the average time between first occurrence of symptoms and the final diagnosis can take to up to 10 years. That’s why it is very important to raise awareness and knowledge about the disease – and why it was a great opportunity last week to hear about it from leading expert Dr. Bernd Holthaus, chief gynecologist at the St. Elisabeth Krankenhaus Damme. Dr. Holthaus joined us at our Olympus EMEA headquarters in Hamburg, where simultaneously the #GETUP2024 training course for upcoming professionals in gynecology took place, and provided employees on-site and via online streaming with enlightening medical insights into this condition.

What is your highlight in March? For us at Olympus, it is joining efforts in raising awareness about colorectal cancer (CRC): Once again in 2024, the #dressinblue campaign connected our #people around the world in the fight against this preventable disease. Education and information are key when it comes to CRC prevention – a topic, that also Luc Colemont, experienced gastroenterologist and founder of the Belgium non-profit organization Stop Darmkanker (België), is very passionate about. It was a great pleasure for us to welcome him at our European headquarters, where he gave a moving and educating keynote on CRC to our employees. Timely screening is crucial because colorectal cancer can be prevented if detected early. March is coming to an end. Make it your start to take care of your #screening. 💙 #ColorectalCancerAwarenessMonth

Wearing blue throughout March has a very special meaning for us at Olympus: The color blue is a symbol of the fight against colorectal cancer and of solidarity with those people who are suffering from the disease. To raise awareness and in light of the global #DressInBlueDay initiative, we encourage our employees over the course of the month to dress in blue and make a photo to show their support. Big shout out to our colleagues in the Netherlands who have already taken part! What about you? Will you #dressinblue, too? #ColorectalCancerAwarenessMonth #TrueToLife
