Thought of the Week I've just recently arrived back from spending time in Vancouver where Benjamin Saravia and myself also caught up with Phil Floucault & Matt Chatterton, P. Eng. overlooking the beautiful Coal Harbour. With so much growth in motion, the focus now has been to challenge ourselves and ask, "Where can we consolidate? Where can we streamline? What can we take away?" Notorious? The Yang Ming tanker made its way into #VancouverPort yesterday. Founded in 1972, the company has deep historical roots, stemming from the China Merchants Steam Navigation Company, established during the Qing Dynasty in 1872! Interestingly, the name "Yang Ming" can mean "notorious" or "famous," and in the shipping world, it certainly stands for excellence. With 101 container ships (some holding up to 14,000 TEUs) and 17 bulk carriers, Yang Ming has become synonymous with reliability and global reach. In 2019, Yang Ming formed a key partnership with Canadian Pacific Railway, enhancing its logistics network by enabling the seamless transport of containers across Canada by rail, starting from the #PortofVancouver.
