    Our MD, Kevin Brocklebank recently went back to his home town to run the notorious Hastings Half Marathon for a local Leeds Charity called Zarach. Zarach gives beds to children in poverty. They have proven that a decent night sleep enables children to perform better in school. In total, he has raised £900 which has put him in the top 15% of fundraisers last month. Fabulous achievement! 👏

    Absolutely thrilled to share that One Red Kite have won the "Best Use Of Data" Award in the 2023 Moodies. We have spent the last couple of years working with Qatar Duty Free to help them better understand the shopper through basket analysis.     What an incredible week it was last week. About 15 years ago, I had an idea that could transform Travel Retail. It was a quantum leap forward. But.... It was dismissed. Some thought I was "an idiot" and wasting my time. I have never waivered in my belief in that idea. I have never given up. After all, the potential is vast. It has the power to change so much of what we do and how we do it in our industry. Then, 3 years ago I had a conversation that would change everything. We had the opportunity to build something incredible with Qatar Duty Free. Last week, I presented the latest version to a group of stakeholders who saw its potential. The room was buzzing. Exciting times ahead. As ever, Qatar Duty Free are the one's to watch and I am proud that we are one very small cog that helps make it happen. Through this, I have the following thoughts: 1, Find the people who believe what you believe. In my case, the people who also like to pioneer and be on the frontiers trying new things. 2, Find the people who believe in you. I have dealt with more than my fair share of cynicism over the years. I still do - I still have a chuckle at the individual who actively ignored me in Cannes this year. The cynics are often just not ready to see what you do. That's ok. They will hopefully catch up but always defer to point 1. Find your tribe instead. 3, Failure is ok as long as you carry the lessons forward. We all make mistakes at some point. We have had to re-build things from the ground up from time to time. We learned lessons that we could not have known unless we made that initial mistake. Resilience is the ability to get back up and keep moving forward. 4, Don't tell. Show. I have learned that you can't just tell some people. You have to show them. You have to let them have their own lightbulb moment. 5, Keep pushing forward. I am already thinking about the next iteration, the next quantum leap. In 2024, we will begin building it! 6, Patience and Persistence are needed in equal measure. There is a saying, you can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink. However, it will get thirsty eventually! Travel Retail is a channel that is like a tanker, it takes a lot of time and distance to change direction.
