To celebrate World Space Week, we asked our colleagues what makes working in the space industry so special 🌌 Akshay Gupta, Senior Product Development Manager: “I've had the opportunity to see first-hand how our space-based connectivity can provide internet to the most remote locations: from the top of Mount Snowdon in Wales to a rural school in Kazakhstan. As Eutelsat Group, we are the only true global LEO-GEO operator. We are entering an exciting new chapter and I am thrilled to see what the future holds for us and our customers.“ Benjamin Lenormand, Regulatory and Spectrum Management Engineer:  “The space industry puts stars in your eyes. We constantly push the boundaries of technological and human potential in a demanding environment. The international aspect of this niche field is also particularly exciting and gives us the opportunity to meet people from all over the world who share the same interests.“ Catherine Rost, Director Enterprise Marketing, Connectivity Business Unit said: “Working in the satcom industry is important to me because it makes such a significant impact to people all over the world. Beyond the high-tech, fast-paced aspects that I enjoy about the space sector, I also appreciate that it is a global industry that fosters multinational collaboration, bringing together minds from around the world and combining strengths to solve problems.” Heidy Beatriz Mejía del Puerto, Manager of Satellites Control & Support: “I’m proud to be part of a field that is essential to the success of space missions. Enabling seamless communication between spacecraft and Earth is a critical challenge that demands precision, innovation, and resilience. I love my job because satellite technology is constantly evolving, and there are always challenges to face in analysis and operations to ensure that satellites remain operational.“ Matteo Carucci, Senior Product Owner: “The international collaboration in this field is so inspiring. We work with people from all over the world, not just our customers, but also through partnerships with organisations like the European Space Agency - ESA. This global perspective opens the door to diverse experiences and challenges, making every project an opportunity to learn and meet individuals who are experts in their fields." Virginie Colas, Product Assurance Manager: "Working in the space sector has allowed me to be part of extraordinary projects. I am very proud to have participated several times on launch campaigns in Kourou, French Guiana, and Baikonur, Kazakhstan. Our Group is also used to embarking hosted payload on our satellites for ESA or the Centre National d'Études Spatiales, making progress for science!" Interested in a career in the space industry? Eutelsat OneWeb LEO connectivity, powering the Sail for Tomorrow expedition ⛵ We've partnered with our colleagues at the European Space Agency - ESA and the UK Space Agency to support and connect the Sail for Tomorrow expedition; a voyage by a crew of student researchers focused on ocean protection and education. The user terminal on their ship “Odyssey”, manufactured by Intellian Technologies, will allow the team to share real-time marine research findings as well as facilitating video conferences with primary school students back home, bringing their exciting stories and research directly into classrooms. Being connected to the Eutelsat OneWeb network will also improve crew welfare by supporting internet browsing, streaming, and video calls with family and friends back home. The boat received best wishes for a safe 10 month trip to Tahiti at an event in La Rochelle, this week. We are proud to be working with our partners to enable connectivity for his incredible adventure 🌊

The Plane Simple® Electronically Steered Antenna (ESA), shown here, is our latest flat panel design currently undergoing extensive testing to validate performance at Gilat Satellite Networks in Bulgaria.   A number of key capabilities are being assessed: 🛰️ The terminal’s ability to accurately point to and switch between network satellites. 📋 Maintaining communications protocols with the network operator. 🌐 Validating performance metrics to ensure maximum capabilities on the Eutelsat OneWeb network.   This newest addition to our portfolio has common Plane Simple 2 LRU architecture and leverages the modular Satcom Direct Modem Unit (SMU), which is already certified with our Tail Mount Plane Simple Ku-Band Antenna with Intelsat, and the Plane Simple Ka-Band Antenna with Viasat. We're pushing the boundaries of innovation to deliver the best in-flight connectivity. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to lead the way in satellite communications. https://lnkd.in/ejrcxV3B #SatcomDirect #PlaneSimple #SATCOM #BusinessJets #CorporateJets
