Part-time online study with the University of Oxford, leading to an MSc, PGDip or CPD in Sleep Medicine
About us
The Oxford Online Programme in Sleep Medicine is a 2-year programme of study, leading to either a Post-graduate Diploma (PgDip) or Master of Science (MSc) from the University of Oxford. MSc students are affiliated to Somerville College. Both the PgDip and MSc include eight teaching modules over 2 academic years. Each module runs for 6-8 weeks. These modules provide comprehensive coverage of sleep medicine, based on the European Sleep Research Society’s accreditation criteria, and the extensive expertise available at the University of Oxford. Individual modules can also be taken as Continuing Professional Development (CPD). Course content: 1. The Physiological Basis of Sleep 2. Introduction to Sleep Medicine and Methodological Approaches 3. Circadian Rhythm Disruption and Sleep 4. Insomnia 5. Sleep-disordered Breathing and Sleep-related Movement Disorders 6. Hypersomnias and Parasomnias 7. Sleep in Specialist Populations 8. Sleep and Society MSc students complete two additional modules on research methodology, covering scientific technique, analysis, writing and critique. In addition to the online content, all PgDip/MSc students attend a one-week residential school during their period of study. This offers a chance to engage in practical skills training, connect with classmates and faculty, and to experience all that makes study at Oxford unique.

Three weeks ago, our Sleep Medicine PGDip/MSc students completed the practical part of the course at the University of Oxford. Over and above learning about various aspects of Sleep Medicine, friendships were built, networks were expanded, and fun was definitely present throughout that unforgettable week!😎 Students gained hands-on experience in sleep measurement, and had a chance to try out some of the newest devices and learn about diagnostic methods - not just from the clinicians' point of view, but also through the experiences shared by patients living with sleep disorders. We look forward to seeing our students again at the weekly online seminars starting next week, as they begin their second year on the programme. Are you interested in studying with us? Applications are open for the 2025/2026 academic year and for ongoing short courses! For more information, visit https://lnkd.in/gqiFi2Dy
