New meta-analysis validates the accuracy of Optellum AI The clinical evidence case for using AI to support clinicians diagnose lung cancer continues to grow. A meta-analysis recently published in the journal #Lung shows that AI/Radiomics technologies, including Optellum Lung Cancer Prediction, outperform commonly used clinical risk models (like Brock and Mayo) for assessing the risk of cancer in lung nodules detected on CT scans: https://lnkd.in/d_nfDwwj The meta-analysis included nearly 10,000 lung nodules from 17 studies. WHY THIS MATTERS Traditional models, while recommended by organizations like the @American College of Chest Physicians, can be time-consuming and prone to error due to manual entry of subjective or missing data. Meanwhile, more and more healthcare providers are - Implementing early lung cancer diagnosis programs - Following guidelines recommending comprehensive management of incidental nodules While such efforts are positive, providers are unlikely to cope with the increased patient numbers. Payers are likely to bear the brunt with increased costs arising from unnecessary procedures and delays to diagnosis. HOW AI CAN HELP Optellum's FDA-cleared Virtual Nodule Clinic offers clinicians a high-throughput, accurate solution for lung nodule risk assessment with the Lung Cancer Prediction AI (LCP).
