Victoria is on a mission to build the future of law. This acquisition marks a pivotal moment in the legal tech landscape. While many firms remain on the sidelines of AI integration, Cleary is forging ahead with a robust vision to lead the industry. It’s rare move in the legal industry that we believe marks a turning point for AI advancement in the field. This could very well trigger significant investment from both VCs and law firms, acceleration adoption in the industry just like with the banking and consulting fields before it. We accidently acquired one of South Africa's top brand agencies a year ago 🇿🇦 In March 2024, we were introduced to Klyne Maharaj, founder of Reflector and generally awesome dude. Reflector started doing some work for Baobab Network, particularly focused on re-energising our brand, a brand that had been completely bootstrapped for 8 years, mainly centred around pictures of Baobab trees that we probably didn't have the full rights to use 🌳 From day one we could see that Klyne wasn't a normal brand consultant. He actually cared about our vision, the mission, and what we were building. He voluntarily rebranded one of our portfolio companies at no extra cost, and he transformed our brand and creative strategy in a matter of days. We paid Reflector a retainer for a few months and things were running pretty smoothly. Until Toby rang me with one of his 'big ideas' (he has these every two weeks or so)... He said why doesn't Baobab Network buy Reflector? So we did. And it has probably been the best decision we've made in the last 10 years. Set against the backdrop of towering mountains and the vivid red sands of the Arabian desert, our stay in the heart of Wadi Rum at the Memories Aicha Luxury Camp, combined adventure with the comfort of beautifully designed tents that echoed the spirit of this magnificent landscape. We kicked off with a traditional dinner under the stars, savouring dishes crafted from fresh, local ingredients—a true feast for the senses. 🏜️✨ The adventure continued with a jeep safari led by local Bedouin guides. Riding in open-air pickups, we explored breathtaking scenery and uncovered hidden archaeological treasures. It was a journey back in time, guided by those who know the land best.
