Castleford Lodge Nursing Home's Silent Disco! 🎧 Team Castleford planned the ultimate crowd-pleasing event for their lovely residents a couple of weeks ago and it went down a treat! Silent discos are a unique type of party where everyone can enjoy the music in their own way; it is an ingenious method of combining fun and person-centred care styles. The afternoon was full of singing, dancing and laughter which echoed through the home and it was a really special, memorable day for everybody! Earlier this month, Lofthouse Grange & Lodge Care Home took a fabulous trip to Bridlington 🐟 Just because it's no longer summer doesn't mean a trip to the seaside and some fish and chips is out of the equation! On the contrary, the whole group had a lovely autumn day out; everybody wrapped up warm and walked along the sea front, chatting and laughing as they went. It was a lovely trip for everyone involved and the coach trip just added to the excitement! Peter and Bill both appreciate the beauty of creativity, so they were very excited to spend the afternoon indulging in history and art. They even stopped at Wetherspoons for a spot of lunch 🍽️ Person-centred days out like this are an amazing opportunity for our residents to continue to enjoy hobbies that they always have done, and we're so pleased that Peter and Bill could enjoy a trip to the Art Gallery. Say hello to Ellie, Clinical Lead at Castleford Lodge Care Home in West Yorkshire! 👋 There are many different aspects to the role of Clinical Lead; your responsibilities consist of providing advice and support to the nursing & care teams, acting in advisory capacity to nurses and much more. Ellie has worked at Castleford for over 2 years and is currently working towards her NVQ 5 thanks to the fantastic career progression opportunities provided by the Orchard Academy 💫 When asked for a piece of advice she would give to someone considering the role, Ellie said: "I would say that the job might not always be easy, but it is always so rewarding", adding that "Working together as a team is key!" During her time at Castleford, Ellie has experienced first-hand the importance of teamwork within the home and she enjoys how the home has a 'family feel' to it, and a helpful, supportive work culture! Well, who knew that Paddock Stile Manor Dementia Care Home was so full of wonderful artists? 🧑🎨 Earlier this month, artwork created by a number of residents and colleagues was displayed in one of the region's most famous ancient festivals...Houghton Feast 2024! These lovely pieces of art were originally created for the home's Macmillan Coffee Morning, but they were so brilliant that they were sent off to the festival for the whole of Houghton-Le-Spring to enjoy 💚 Thank you to the Paddock team for keeping those creative juices flowing!
