This week in the Orionrobots lab, we've been trying to improve the output of the 3D printer. I've been using it for robot brackets and simple shapes, but I'd like to do a little more with it. https://lnkd.in/eVjh_YtF

I've written a tutorial for avoiding walls using two sensors on a robot running #MicroPython, like Raspberry Pi Pico. https://lnkd.in/eRixjYfY.

I've been helping out in specifying robots and worksheets for kids to play with #raspberry-pi-pico robots at a local Coder Dojo, see what parts I chose and why at https://lnkd.in/eFJwjY8G

🤖 Exciting news! 📚 We've hit a milestone: over 10,000 copies of my robotics books sold, helping thousands explore the world of robotics and programming, thanks to our amazing community! We've also made it into the PiWars 2024 intermediate category - stay tuned for our robot-building journey! 🎉 #PiWars #Robotics #MilestoneAchieved https://lnkd.in/esrrJcfx

People have suggested my book robots are a little expensive. I've thought carefully about this. https://lnkd.in/e3zitE_K

What would we do with a Raspberry Pi 5? Build a robot of course. With the two ports, it could have sophisticated stereoscopic vision. With the PCIe port, a GPU could be used to help process that, or Monte Carlo localisation, or ML data. The Pi 5 looks like it will need a larger power supply, maybe a 30w plus supply so bigger power banks.
