Yesterday we welcomed Harry Petch to the Outplay Studio! Harry was the winner of our “Outplay Award for Gameplay and Systems Design” at the recent Abertay Graduates Degree Show. Harry spent some time with the design team, learning how we create incredible games for our players and even got an exclusive hands-on preview of brand new and exciting upcoming games from Outplay! Harry walked away with some great Outplay merch and a gift voucher to help support his continued learning and career in games. Congratulations on the award, Harry! We are sure you will go on to do incredible things!

We had the pleasure of welcoming two enthusiastic gamers into our studio today! Both are beginning their journey into games development and were keen to get a first hand look at the many roles it takes to make great games! Our development team shared more about their roles and experience and both boys really enjoyed the visit and are excited to explore a career in games. Thanks for coming!

  We were thrilled to sponsor a student award at the annual Abertay University Digital Graduate show last week! Our Design Manager Jamie Keddie and Lead Designer Andrew Lindsay attended the show on Friday where Jamie presented the "Outplay Award for Gameplay and Systems Design" to our chosen winner Harry Petch As always, there was a wonderful variety of work on display from students across different courses. Harry’s game was a great combination of innovation, level design, and user experience considerations. Harry was extremely pleased with the award, and we had a great time speaking with him about design and playing his game after the awards ceremony. As part of his award, Harry will be coming in to visit the studio soon and to try his hand at some design work in a professional environment and we are all looking forward to having him here! In celebration of International Women’s day at Outplay we hosted an Empowering Women workshop delivered by guest speaker Melissa Re Our team got to learn more on historic biases in society that impact women today and how to recognise harmful societal conditioning. We also learned how to fully appreciate women and their achievements to cultivate greater self-love, freedom. creativity, and joy, and how to assert themselves more confidently within their own lives. It was a powerful and thought-provoking session, greatly enjoyed by all! Melissa has delivered a series of online events through our academy and Wellbeing channels.
