About us
OVO Arena Wembley is the UK’s most iconic entertainment venue. With a rich history that goes back to its days as the Empire Pool and Sports Arena, the building has played host to numerous events including the 1948 and 2012 Olympics. Now, 90 years since its opening in 1934, the venue now boasts a £35 million refurbishment and a winning partnership with OVO. The famous stage has been graced by the likes of Madonna, David Bowie, The Who, Dolly Parton, Stevie Wonder, Prince, and even The Beatles and Rolling Stones who shared the same bill. Despite being synonymous with live music, the OVO Arena Wembley has cemented its status as a sporting venue to rival its neighbouring Stadium. Adding to a glowing reputation for ice shows, the venue has hosted TNA Wrestling, Snooker Finals, Premier League Darts, Indoor Hockey Finals and the International Strongman Championships in recent years. Not to mention the scores of family and comedy shows the Arena has to offer.

As part of our #Wembley90 celebrations, we continue to reflect on our journey through history and embrace new beginnings. After the COVID-19 pandemic, we were among the first venues to reopen and rebranded as OVO Arena Wembley in 2022. Enjoy these highlights from January 21, 2023, when Dropkick Murphys electrified the crowd at the newly named OVO Arena, continuing our tradition of memorable performances as we celebrate 90 years of Wembley Arena. 🎸✨

⏪⏰ In 2012, Alice Cooper was honoured as the only international act to headline the venue for five consecutive decades. We cemented his spot in OVO Arena Wembley history, literally, when he put his handprint in Arena Square.🖐️ #Wembley90

It’s time to revisit the '00s! ⏪ In 2005, the arena underwent a major transformation, closing for 14 months for a £35 million refurbishment. We reopened in April 2006 with a new feature: the 'Square of Fame.' Now known as Arena Square, this area honours some of our biggest headliners and serves as a vibrant community gathering spot. #Wembley90
