🤵♀️ This week our Secretary Daniela Krouzkova had the opportunity to attend #Preside 2.0 and represent our society community. Hosted by Windō at Bloomberg's HQ in London, the event convened young leaders of over 130 societies from over 40 universities. Preside highlighted the values of young talent and their influence on career priorities and choices, focusing on people and the planet. Co-founders Oli Coles BEM and Ken Janssens shared that for 67% of young talent value alignment is more important than a higher salary and 69% would leave their role if their values did not align. 🗯️ Discussions were centred on the importance of #sustainability and #climate urgency, reducing unconscious #bias, fostering inclusivity and creating empowering #workplaces. Gender equality was one of the key values for young professionals! We would like to see more progress that is still urgently needed to accommodate women's unique health journeys during their career development. Addressing unmet women’s health needs to further increase workplace inclusivity is a key part of #inclusivity and #equity. ▶️ Check out Windō's #EarlyCareerDiscoveryHub to explore more: https://lnkd.in/e4kie_Ep ⏩ Read also the report on #GenZHealth by Able Partners & Springbank Collective: https://lnkd.in/gHSg_N4R #Preside #WomenatWork #Womenworkplace #ValuesAlignedCareers #FutureOfWork #GenderEquity #WomenEmpowerment #FemTech #Womenshealth #Inclusivity #DEI #Sustainability #GenZWorkplace

We are proud to share that we were mentioned by The Guardian as one of the "organisations [in the UK] supporting FemTech globally" earlier this month! 🌍 Our goal has always been to think beyond Oxford, addressing women’s health issues and especially gender health disparities worldwide. FemTech is not a niche‼️ It targets half of the world's population and addresses long-neglected health issues, which can include but also go beyond reproductive health! We are proud to advocate for women's health, connect research with entrepreneurship, and raise awareness of both the potential of tech and the risks of creating new disparities. ✋ Thank you to Amelia Hill from The Guardian for spotlighting our efforts! ➡️ Read the full article: https://lnkd.in/e3QuQPQb #WomensHealth #FemTech #NotaNiche #Innovation #TheGuardian #WomensEmpowerment #TechForHealth Green Templeton College, University of Oxford, Oxford University Innovation, Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, Nuffield Department of Medicine, Centre for Tropical Medicine and Global Health, Health Systems Global, EnSpire Oxford

In current times we talk a lot about the problem of discrimination. Black women often face significant health disparities due to systemic racism and inadequate representation in medical research. This discrimination leads to gaps in healthcare, where conditions that disproportionately affect Black women may be under-researched or poorly addressed by general healthcare solutions. Today we look at the exact developments of discrimination and startups whose efforts are crucial in advancing health equity and ensuring that all women receive the care and support they deserve. 💡 Numbers speak for themselves! Research from Oxford Brookes University & Advanced Oxford, uncovered some stark realities in terms of gender diversity within the Oxfordshire region’s #science and #technology industrial base: 🔢 90% of CEOs in #Oxfordshire are men, 85% were founded exclusively by men, and only 18% of companies have at least one female founder - which is only slightly higher than the #nationalaverage of 17%. We can and must do better! 💪 Incorporating diverse perspectives, experiences, and talents, and a gender-inclusive approach can lead to more creative solutions, thoughtful products and services! 🚀 Last night, the research report Gender-Inclusivity: A Catalyst for Innovation Toolkit was launched - born from the groundbreaking research of Hannah Isabelle T., Sarah Haywood, and Simonetta Manfredi. 🎓 We love to see the power of research and academia, providing a toolkit that offers practical steps and data-driven recommendations for companies to drive #realchange. 👉 Check it out: https://lnkd.in/evi7kHC8 #Innovation #Diversity #Inclusion #Leadership #Genderinclusion Windō, Oxford University Innovation, Oxford Science Enterprises, NHS Innovation Accelerator, FemTech Lab, Femtech Insider, Tech4Eva - The global Femtech accelerator, UN Women UK

💡 It will be exciting to see the first results from this groundbreaking trial providing deeper insights into the womb’s environment. After our FemTech innovation workshop with the Verso Biosense team last term, we are particularly excited about their mission to also help improving women's care by enhancing IUD insertion and follow-up care. The potential to empower patients with more knowledge and better quality care is truly promising! 🙏
We’ve recruited the first patient into one of our pioneering clinical trials. The trial is exploring how our Verso Biosense platform can deliver insights into temperature and oxygen fluctuations in the womb. Giuseppina Lamanna, Clinical Director at The London Women’s Clinic in Harley Street, says “The idea behind the Verso Biosense platform is very interesting. Using specially designed sensors, it’s the first technology to continuously monitor the environment in the uterus. For my patients who are undergoing IVF treatment journeys, knowledge is empowering.” We’re looking to speak with women in the UK who have had one unsuccessful cycle of IVF, and may be interested in joining this clinical trial. More details are available at https://lnkd.in/eGMb9GHh or by contacting The London Women’s Clinic at https://lnkd.in/ePprNTxf. Please share this post to reach more women who might be interested. #femtech #fertility #IVF #expertviews #LondonWomensClinic Nick Macklon #VersoBiosense
