The Oxford Law Society is proud to be opening our call for articles for the Verdict blog! Verdict is a student blog hosted on the Oxford Law Society’s website. Publication was interrupted some time back, but the HT’25 Executive Committee has decided to bring it back into action. Verdict is intended to be a platform for students to contribute legal writing on a more casual basis than opportunities offered by undergraduate legal journals. We are looking for strong writers with a passion for legal writing to contribute to the blog. If you are interested, the submission guidelines may be found here: https://lnkd.in/gVzmyuM4 Blog Content: The blog will contain two types of articles: Academic and Industry. Academic articles will be focused on legal academia, whereas Industry articles will focus on legal practice and the legal industry. Further guidelines on the distinction can be found in the Submission Guidelines (appended in this email). Articles may be case commentaries, academic opinions and interviews, though this category is not closed. Articles should generally be about UK law, unless concerning international law, EU law or jurisprudence. Eligibility: Writers need only be current undergraduate students studying in the UK. To clarify - you need not be a law student, nor an Oxford student, to send us an article. The editorial team: Editors will review articles on a rolling basis, taking around a week on average to approve articles. The exact work schedule is subject to change in light of response to the journal. Publication is expected to occur on a weekly rolling basis starting from Week 3 of Hilary Term 2025. Instructions: To submit an article, follow the link below and follow the instructions in the form: https://lnkd.in/gXR5hYVY The form will remain open until at least the end of Hilary Term 2025 (Saturday 15 March). We look forward to reading your articles!
