We are pleased to announce the acquisition of Oxford Semantic Technologies, established by three Oxford University professors in 2017, by Samsung Electronics, following a close collaboration since 2018 including investment from Samsung Ventures. For Samsung, the acquisition will see our AI-centric engine, RDFox®, combined with their on-device AI technology to provide personal knowledge graphs and hyper-personalised user experiences across all of Samsung’s products, from mobiles and TVs to home appliances. Being part of Samsung, with their expertise in user experience and data, enables us to provide an even better product, service and support to our current and future clients - as more companies adopt knowledge graph, reasoning and accurate AI technology. We would like to take this opportunity to thank the University of Oxford, Oxford University Innovation and Oxford Science Enterprises, without whom we would not have reached this significant milestone. RDFox: the first market-ready high-performance knowledge graph built from the ground up with semantic reasoning in mind
About us
Oxford Semantic Technologies develop RDFox, the first market-ready high-performance knowledge graph designed from ground up with semantic reasoning in mind. Oxford Semantic Technologies was founded in 2017 as a spin-out of the University of Oxford with a mission to bring cutting-edge research in semantic web technologies to industry. The team started working on RDFox in 2011 at the Computer Science Department of the University of Oxford with the conviction that flexible and high-performance reasoning was a possibility for data extensive applications without jeopardising the correctness of the results. Patented modern computing techniques underpin RDFox’s ability to deliver responses to complex queries on the fly. This has unlocked a new wave of enterprise applications for prestigious partners. To learn more about our customer stories and the applications of RDFox, head over to our blog at: https://www.oxfordsemantic.tech/blog OST was acquired by Samsung Electronics in 2024.

ChatGPT has exploded in popularity since it was released in 2022, but even with newer releases, they still suffer from one major problem: Hallucinations. ⬇️ According to #OpenAI, the newest GPT-4 is said to be 60% less likely to make up stuff. This isn't what we want, especially in customer-centric applications. So, what is the problem exactly? Most importantly, how can we fix it? 📌 We answered these important questions in our blog post: https://hubs.li/Q02S1RgY0 (Stat source: MIT Technology Review) #ChatGPT #Hallucinations #ArtificialIntelligence #AISolution

Ever wondered how Conway's Game of Life, a zero-player game, can show us how to unlock the potential of IoT and semantic reasoning? 👾 The Game of Life is an iconic piece of pop culture, with its simple rules, making it easy to understand yet endlessly captivating. By enabling a whole fleet of cubes that can all communicate and interact, each running its own Game of Life, we create powerful device network, akin to how devices connect and interact in our everyday lives, addressing the largest IoT challenges. 🌐 📌 Here's how we connected the dots between virtual and real-world grids: https://hubs.li/Q02S1RzH0 #IoT #IndustrialAutomation #AIinnovation
