As an independent student run team we pride ourselves on educating the next generation of engineers ⚙️ and mechanics 🧰. How do we do it? -Networking 🗣️ Throughout the year, we are showcased at multiple shows and take this opportunity to have our members speak to all spectators about the importance of youth involvement in the sport. -Sponsors 🤳 Our sponsors not only provide us with the materials/services we need, but also vital connections within the industry. As a team, we go beyond displaying our sponsors decals on our car—we bring product testing and development to the field before they receive consumer feedback from their clients and customers. -Passion 🏁 Thomas Leclaire, like many before and after him, highlight the endless opportunities the team’s resources have provided and its legacy as an independent student run team. We thank you for your incredible contribution and we wish you great success on your new journey!
This is why I do it. Over the past 12 months I have spent over 1000 hours working with my race team Oxford Universities Motorsport Foundation, I have my ways of knowing, I keep track of the time I invest. I was asked by many people, friends, family, colleagues, how, why, I do it. My team, not my team as in everyone on the team works for me but my team as in everyone of those on the team are my teammates, equally responsible for the success. Together we make a team. My team and their team. I could give you all kinds of reasons about learning experience, work exposure, networking, but the truth is, my teammates are why I was there nearly every weekend and every evening. I loved being able to teach new and old members, learn from them and grow as a team together. I was the ''President'' of the OUMF for the past 2 years but lovingly (I hope), my teammates referred to me as the grandpa of the group. This year with the team we achieved some amazing results, including podiums at every single HRDC event we entered, a podium at the Ypres Rally, and we got our Elva Courier out of it's 15 year hiatus and raced it at the Goodwood Revival successfully with only one race to iron out its numerous issues. There are many people I want to thank, first and foremost Ding Boston, for trusting me and working with me so much of the team, my teammates Charlie Lemme, Ethan Wakeman, Tom Reid, Charlie Stratton, James Biley, Oliver Raja-Brown, Edward Scheer, Connor Johnstone for making me push every day and for keeping me light hearted and laughing, my old teammates and alumni, Thomas Grant, Robert B., Arran Mcluskie, Tashan Lewis, Jalal Mehdizada, Vlad Ardeleanu, Dominic Norman, James Martin and many more for being there and untrusting me with carrying on such an amaxing team, and to all of our sponsors, Phillips Tyres, P1 FUELS, Speedy Cables (London) Ltd, Tom Barclay Racing Limited, DFDS Belgium, FUCHS OIL CORP. (SK), spol. s r.o., TOYO TYRE (UK) LTD, PowerLite for their unwavering support of the best student run race team in the UK, and maybe even Europe. I know I haven't been able to thank everyone here, I am grateful to everyone has played a role in my time with Oxford Universities Motorsport Foundation. I wish everyone nothing but huge amounts of success, my buddies already pushing on in industry, I know that you will keep those standards high, those coming into it in the next few years, you have convinced me that there will be plenty of competent engineers keeping those standards as high as possible as well. And to all of our sponsors, thank you, and let us keeping working together to keep historic racing a huge deal around the world. I will always be a part of the Oxford Universities Motorsport Foundation team, from the sidelines now but I will continue to support this incredible team.
