It has been a pleasure working with the Ellison Institute of Technology Oxford to support its expansion into an additional building at The Oxford Science Park (TOSP). Already based at Fletcher House, EIT Oxford will take full occupancy of the adjacent Winchester House, which provides modern lab and office space across three floors. This phased move will be completed by the end of the year. EIT Oxford is developing an impressive R&D campus, designed by Foster + Partners, which will be located to the north of their current premises. The campus is expected to attract innovative thinkers and leading scientists from around the world to support EIT’s mission to solve some of humanity’s most challenging and enduring problems. The round was co-led by Kindred Capital VC, NATO Innovation Fund (NIF) and Oxford Science Enterprises, with participation from Inovia Capital and Cocoa 🍫, as well as angel investors including Hermann Hauser and Stan Boland. This investment will enable us to expand our team across silicon, software and AI, build partnerships, and accelerate progress towards our first product groundbreaking AI chip, capable of running state-of-the-art AI models up to 100x faster and 10x cheaper than existing hardware. Brainomix, a digital health company founded in 2010 from Oxford University’s preclinical stroke lab, has partnered with German pharmaceutical company Boehringer Ingelheim. Together, they will work on a programme to enhance care for patients with fibrosing lung disease in the US. Using Brainomix's AI imaging software, Brainomix 360 e-Lung, this project aims to accelerate diagnosis and improve treatment access for patients with progressive pulmonary fibrosis. This chronic lung condition often takes up to 2 years to diagnose, but early treatment is crucial for better outcomes. By deploying the FDA-cleared e-Lung software in top US pulmonology centres, this partnership will help identify patients sooner and provide faster treatment.
