We have really enjoyed working with the National Institute of Teaching to help them establish a full suite of HR policies and develop a brand new Employee Handbook. This feedback really made our day! 😊

🌍💚 Today is World Mental Health Day! 💚🌍 This year, the spotlight is on workplace mental health so we would like to share a few ways that employers can foster supportive workspaces and support their team members: Promote Open Conversations: Encourage a culture where employees feel safe discussing mental health without fear of stigma or judgement. Provide Access to Resources: Offer mental health support through Employee Assistance Programmes (EAPs) which often include counselling and therapeutic services as standard. Flexible Working Options: Understand that everyone’s needs are different so offer flexibility where possible to reduce stress and improve work-life balance. Regular Check-Ins: Make sure to hold frequent, informal check-ins to show support and understanding for individual situations. #WorldMentalHealthDay #MentalHealthMatters #EmployeeWellbeing

Integrity and fairness are highly valued in the workplace, however in a survey of 3000 UK employees conducted by LumApps, only 25% of workers feel as if they can trust their leadership fully. There are several reasons why trust is so important in the workplace, here are just a few: 🤝 Increased Collaboration: When employees feel safe to share ideas and to provide feedback, they collaborate a lot more and are more open with each other. ❤️ Improves Well-Being: Employees who feel like they are trusted by their employer, tend to feel less stressed and feel more secure in their jobs. ⚙ Improved Productivity: With more trust between managers and their team members, it allows employees to feel recognised for the work they have done and they are therefore more motivated to go the extra mile as they feel supported. 🎲 Better Decision Making: When there is trust among colleagues it allows leaders to hear different views and think of things in different ways which can help foster better decision-making. Let us commit to fostering trust in our teams. If you and your organisation need help to build trust amongst colleagues, please reach out to us for advise and support. #Trust #Leadership #WorkplaceCulture #EmployeeEngagement

At the start of the summer we welcomed a Marketing intern to the Paragon People team to help provide insight into work trends and issues affecting the younger generation of employees. This article takes a particular look at the changes we can expect from Gen Alpha entering the workforce in larger numbers and has been prepared by our intern based on their own reflections and experiences. Take a look ⬇

As many employees continue to balance caring responsibilities and work during the summer months, it gives us a reminder to consider the many different ways of working that companies can utilise to support their team members. These ways of working bring many benefits, not just in the school holidays but throughout the year. We've pulled together a high-level summary of pros and cons for each type of flexible working arrangement. It's important to mention that not all of these pros and cons will be felt by all and many of the potential cons have practical solutions to prevent and tackle these issues before they arise. #waysofworking

Employee Relations: a broad term that is often applied to situations involving HR, but what exactly is Employee Relations and how can Paragon People help? Employee Relations as defined by CIPD ‘is about creating and maintaining a positive working relationship between an organisation and its people. An important part of that relationship is the culture, and the extent to which the organisation seeks to be resolution focused.’ We understand that managing employee relations intersects with many HR processes including TUPE, disciplinary, grievance, bullying & harassment, and any other issues you and your employees may experience where a resolution is needed. This can also include performance management, redundancy, change management, conducting investigations and helping create best practice policies which help provide guidance to the organisation and its employees. For more details on how the team at Paragon People can help, please reach out to us. While this can appear to be a complex area, our expertise will bring you and your team to the best resolution possible. #EmployeeRelations #BestPracticePolicies #Support #HRConsultancy

Employee burnout has become a larger issue in the UK over recent years and it affects the productivity and the well-being of not just the individual experiencing burnout, but their teams and the wider organisation too. Recent statistics highlight how severe burnout is in the UK: 📊 According to the survey by CIPHR, an overwhelming majority of British adults (79%) feel stressed at least once a month 📊 One in five UK citizens feel stressed more days a month than they don’t, particularly high among 18-24-year-olds. 📊 According to the research conducted by Westfield Health, close to half (46%) of UK workers are close to burnout. It is important to address the prevalence of burnout and face it head-on. Here are a few tips to help tackle burnout: 1. Create a culture that promotes Work-Life Balance: Allow employees to take regular breaks, create flexible working, and stress the importance of taking annual leave/time off. 2. Create an environment where open communication is encouraged: Employees should feel comfortable discussing their workload, stress levels, and how they are feeling overall. 3. Provide Resources: Offer access to mental health resources, counselling services, EAPs, etc., and consider conducting workshops that keep employees informed on how to manage stress and proactively deal with things that affect them, to prevent burnout. 4. Show appreciation and reward efforts: Regularly acknowledge and appreciate your team’s hard work. #EmployeeWellbeing #Burnout #MentalHealth #WorkplaceWellness

With the General Election dominating the headlines and news feeds, we wanted to take a moment to note that this week is Alcohol Awareness Week. Alcohol Awareness Week aims to raise awareness about the risks of alcohol consumption and promotes healthier behaviours. The campaign encourages people to reflect on their drinking habits, make informed choices and seek help if needed. It also tries to bust the myths surrounding alcohol consumption, so to help we are sharing this link to Alcohol Change which does just that! The impact of alcohol misuse in the workplace can be significant. Managers need to know how to respond and offer support to someone struggling with addiction. A good Alcohol and Drug Awareness policy helps, but so does training and resources for line managers so they can deal with these issues as they arise. #alcoholawarenessweek #mythbusting https://lnkd.in/eyYwpTsf
