Polkadot ecosystem leaders from Parity, Ajuna Network, Polimec Foundation, Xcavate Protocol & Archisinal.io spent yesterday evening educating students, engineers and investors at UCL about blockchain use cases. The event was co-hosted by the UK Centre for Blockchain Technologies and Parity's Chrissy Hill was joined by Nicholas Douzinas, David Bakk, Richard Houldsworth and Tom Humber on one of two panels. The panel explained to an audience eager to learn why a wide range of start-ups are inspired to build groundbreaking projects on Polkadot.

Parity's CLO and interim COO Chrissy Hill has been shortlisted for Woman of the Year - Business Growth in the Citywealth Powerwomen Awards 2025! The awards spotlight individuals and companies who support caregiving responsibilities and female leadership. They also celebrate diversity, champion women in the wealth sector and highlight the female leaders of today and tomorrow. We're super proud that Chrissy has been nominated for this award, and we know it means a lot to her. The new engineering hires keep coming at Parity. Alexandre Pinto is an experienced #Web3 developer and joins the PolkaJAM team. This means he will work closely with Dr Gavin Wood on the Parity implementation of JAM, a future iteration of Polkadot that will allow builders to easily deploy and develop any type of application on Polkadot cores, even those that don't resemble a blockchain. Alexandre says: "I've been working in the crypto space since 2018, and now I'm super-excited to be joining Parity. I am Portuguese, and although I've lived for the last 12 years in the UK I've just returned to my hometown, Porto." We currently have 10 open roles across our engineering teams as we work hard to source the right talent to keep Polkadot and its ecosystem on track for enhanced enterprise and user adoption.

Two of Parity's sharpest minds and most skillful communicators Shawn Tabrizi and Chrissy Hill have recently accepted important speaking invitations. 🇦🇷 Shawn will share a stage with Argentina president Javier Milei(!), Charles Hoskinson of Cardano and many others at Tech Forum Argentina in Buenos Aires on October 19th. 🇺🇸 Chrissy will travel to Dallas a month later for the North American Blockchain Summit, hosted by Texas Blockchain Council.

Giuseppe tells us: "I joined the #Web3 world quite recently, with a job at Algorand a year and a half ago. Parity's Maciej Żyszkiewicz spoke at the #RustMatters software engineers' meetup in London, reflecting the benefits of Rust Programming Language. Sponsored by Keyrock and UMATR, the event brought lots of Web2 engineers together, and many were very curious to learn how Parity uses Rust for the benefit of the Polkadot ecosystem. In addition, there was local representation from Polkadot Blockchain Academy and Web3 Foundation, and two other great speakers: the renowned Rust author maxwell flitton (who kindly let us use one of these pictures) and Keyrock's Alex Butler, who explained how he saved the company £20,000 a day while adapting his model to record latency. Maciej's talk succinctly explained how the Docify crate on Rust helps Parity engineers like himself keep the entire Polkadot ecosystem synchronized.
