For communities considering starting their own parkrun, my advice is simple, go for it! While it requires effort and commitment, the rewards are immense and it is so much fun. parkrun together, uniting communities in Finglas and beyond. https://buff.ly/4d8P1O6 🌳 #loveparkrun

Once trapped in the darkness of addiction, life felt like an endless cycle of pain and despair. But sometimes, hope comes from the most unexpected places. The first steps were the hardest. Struggling with each breath, fighting to break free from the chains of addiction. From negative addiction to a new positive one, parkrunning towards a better life. Transformation is possible, one parkrun at a time. Thanks to Darndale parkrun and Coolock running Club. 🌳 #loveparkrun

Last month, at Tralee parkrun we bade farewell to one of our regular parkrunners, Ivan Segade Carou from A Coruña in Galicia, Northern Spain. Ivan ran his 81st and (for the time being) last parkrun the day after he completed his course in Software Development in Munster Technological University, Tralee, before returning home. He rarely missed a Saturday morning during term-time for his three years, having learned about parkrun from one of our veteran regulars, Mairéad, who completed well over a hundred parkruns, of course, she was in the park to cheer on Ivan with the rest of us! Although the majority of his parkruns have been in Tralee, he did manage to complete the “full house” of Kerry’s parkruns, visiting Inch Beach, Listowel, Killarney House and Fenit Greenway with the support of one of his regular guides, Roland Rogers, one of the few guide runners able to match Ivan’s pace! Ivan’s best time is an amazing 19:35 (guided by Stephen Moore on that occasion)! He certainly earned to right to sit on “Ronald’s Rock” in the Town Park… a rare honour indeed! It wasn’t just Roland who guided Ivan, in all over twenty Tralee parkrunners have guided him over the three years. Ivan told us how much he enjoyed it and felt welcome every week, and found it a great help to reduce stress during his studies here. We’ll miss him on the start line, and hopefully, parkrun will eventually start up in Spain so he can continue his parkrun career! He will always be welcome back in Tralee. https://buff.ly/3VN510S Tony Higgins, Tralee parkrun 🌳 #loveparkrun

Daniel is the 65th person globally diagnosed with severe #SotosSyndrome, a condition which is characterised by excessive physical growth during the early years of life. On completing his first parkrun, like every registered parkrun participant, Daniel got his result via email. It was an emotional moment for his mother, Sinéad to see Daniel’s name, in fact, his time and his name! She saw in this that he had an identity, that perhaps this could become a hobby for him. https://buff.ly/3xGyt0q 🌳 #loveparkrun
