Following our previous post, Martin Miceli, our CTO, shared broader reflections from MWC24 Las Vegas. As an AI-focused software company, his insights are fundamental to our AI strategy and deepening our expertise. Here is the second part of his key takeaways:  💡 Generative AI Meets Edge Computing:  The spotlight wasn’t just on AI, but how Generative AI is transforming networks. Integrating AI into edge devices could turn 5G into a powerhouse for GenAI. Imagine real-time virtual assistants making decisions using edge computing! 💡 Software-Defined Networks & AI: NVIDIA showcased how Software-Defined Networks (SDN) and AI are reshaping network automation. AI-driven digital twins could optimise everything from traffic to efficiency. 💡 Day-0 of Generative AI: As Ami Badani from Arm pointed out, GenAI is still in its infancy. We're in the experimentation phase—like learning to swim before diving deep. 💡 Specialised Language Models & Model Merging: Julien SIMON discussed the rise of open-source models and the potential for combining them to meet unique business needs. “Why rent AI models when you can own them?” 💡 Agentic AI: Quant.ai’s Chetan Dube introduced “Agentic AI,” moving beyond copilots to AI that acts like true employees—retrieving, analysing, and making decisions without errors. 💡 Open APIs & CAMARA: OpenGateways could revolutionise telecoms, just as OpenBanking did for finance, creating an ecosystem ripe for third-party innovation. For more insights, check out Martin’s full post. What do you think—will telcos play a key role in the AI revolution? #ParserCommunity #MWC24 #GenerativeAI #EdgeComputing #AIInnovation #OpenGateway #AgenticsAI

My Aha Moments from MWC24 Las Vegas: The Conference (Part 2) In my last post, I shared some key highlights from the CIO Summit, but the broader MWC Las Vegas 2024 event offered even more thought-provoking insights that I can't wait to share. Compared to the grand MWC24 Barcelona, Las Vegas was more intimate — fewer crowds, shorter walks, and more chances to dive deep into the sessions that mattered most. This meant I could attend more AI-focused talks, which was perfect for my company, Parser, and our passion for AI-driven solutions. So what stood out? Here are some of the key topics that captured my attention: 1. Livin' On The Edge - Generative AI  2. RAN AI Run … - AI-powered Software-Defined Networks and RAN  3. Day-0 of Generative AI  4. Small Models, Big Impact: How SLMs and Model Merging Redefine AI  5. ROI vs AI: The Shift from Cost-Cutting to Revenue Generation  6. Beyond Copilots: The Rise of Agentic AI  7. Open Banking for Networks: Will CAMARA Stick? Each of these topics sparked new ideas, but perhaps one of the most unforgettable moments was meeting Malcolm Gladwell — 📚 the brilliant mind behind "Outliers" and "David & Goliath" (my favorites!).  This time, he was presenting his latest book, "Revenge of the Tipping Point", and it’s now firmly on my to-read list. Curious about my take on these emerging trends? Check out the article for more insights and let me know which of these topics speaks to you the most! #MWC24 #GenerativeAI #AIInnovation #EdgeComputing #OpenGateway #AgenticsAI #SLMs #ModelMerging #RevengeOfTheTippingPoint

Martin Miceli, our CTO, attended #MWC24 Las Vegas and shared his first insights: 💎 Did you know Las Vegas has a Chief Innovation Officer? Yes, it does! This explains the city's tech boom—from pioneering 5G and the Boring Company Loop to the Sphere’s groundbreaking entertainment and even a public 3D printing office. Las Vegas is truly becoming a tech-forward city! 🌇 💎 IoB – The Internet of Bodies: Think body sensors, health monitoring, and predictive care. Unlike IoT, IoB focuses on data for preventive healthcare, driving demand for larger networks and edge computing. IoB is set to become a primary driver of mobile network traffic.🏃💻 💎 One of the boldest ideas: 5G might make Wi-Fi and VLANs obsolete. 📱 What? Yes! Find out more in Martin's full post. 💎 MITRE ATLAS: The big discovery for improving our AI maturity models. 🤖 MWC24 Las Vegas was definitely THE place to learn about innovation and what's at the cutting edge—and we were there! #ParserCommunity #MWC24 #IoB #Data #5G #AI #Future #Technology

My Aha Moments from MWC Las Vegas 2024: The CIO Summit (Part 1) As a CTO, attending MWC24 Las Vegas was eye-opening, especially the inaugural CIO Summit (shoutout to Erich J. Hermanns and Justine Jacobson for making it happen). It was a chance to explore how technology is reshaping cities like Las Vegas and dive deep into key industry insights. Here are four standout moments that really impressed me: #1. Las Vegas’ Chief Innovation Officer: Michael Lee Sherwood is the one! I didn’t expect Las Vegas to have a Chief Innovation Officer, but learning how he’s driving initiatives like The Boring Company Loop, 5G adoption, The Sphere, and even a public 3D printing office really put things into perspective. These innovations are turning Las Vegas into a tech hub. Impressive for a city known for entertainment! #2. IoB – The Internet of Bodies: Priya Kurien, IBM We’re all familiar with IoT, but IoB is the new kid in the block. Think body sensors, health monitoring, and predictive care. Unlike IoT, IoB focuses more on data collection for preventive healthcare rather than actuators. It’s increasing the demand for bigger networks and edge computing. We will definitely hear more about IoB on healthcare and fitness tech transformations. #3. 5G – The All-in-One Network: Mike Fitz, T-Mobile One of the boldest conclusions I made: 5G might make Wi-Fi and VLANs obsolete. What? Mike explained how 5G is eliminating the friction of switching between different networks,  protocols and authentication methods. Private 5G networks with dedicated quality of service based on geolocation, user roles and connection priority needs, are essential for health and law enforcement services. That’s a game-changer for scalable, real-time and user roles base connectivity. #4. AI MITRE ATLAS: Andrew Thiessen, MITRE Learning about MITRE ATLAS (an AI-focused derivation of MITRE ATT&CK security threats matrix, with high focus on LLMs) and MITRE FiGHT applicable to 5G has major implications for the way we should prevent security vulnerabilities in future mobile AI driven applications. These insights will help me improve our AI Maturity Model at Parser, especially on LLMOps tasks. After an inspiring journey with cutting-edge ideas at the Boingo Innovators Hub, I walked away energized and full of new ideas. Excited to apply these insights in my work and see where the future of tech is headed! Stay tuned for Part 2, where I’ll dive into the wider MWC24 experience. #MWC24 #IoB #Data #5G #AI #Future #Technology #CIOSummit #MITRE_ATLAS #Vegas

Our VP of Engineering, Fernando Sigüenza, explores an innovative approach for Large Language Models (LLMs) in this must-read article. Instead of relying on a single, massive model, he advocates for a modular, distributed system built on smaller, specialised models. 💡 Why does this matter? This strategy could unlock new levels of efficiency, scalability, and flexibility in AI, paving the way for more robust, tailored solutions. Plus, you'll get a behind-the-scenes look at a hands-on experiment that demonstrates the real-world feasibility of this approach. 🔗 Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/drpJBfTw #ParserCommunity #AI #LLMs #DistributedApproach #TechInnovation
