We're absolutely thrilled to introduce our brand new, fresh, and modern logo that aligns with our future aspirations for our company. Eagle-eyed observers will notice that "Plandescil" is still a part of our ‘PDC’ logo, as a testament to our company history and something we did not want to lose. We want to reassure our clients that our core values and ethos remain the same, and we stand by our commitment to provide cost effective engineering solutions whilst maintaining exceptional standards across the board. From the 1st of November, we will trade as PDC Engineering, part of the Plandescil Ltd family.

On the 8th of September, five of our employees will be participating in Run Norwich, a 10km run through the city centre, in support of Big C Cancer Charity, our Charity of the Year. The Big C are committed to working collectively to provide outstanding cancer support, when and where people need it, now and for the future. This run is more than just a fitness challenge for us; it’s an opportunity to support a cause that’s important to us all. We’d love your support! 🌟 In teams news… We’re thrilled to announce that our engineer, Tom O’Hara, has recently graduated from Nottingham Trent University with a 1st Class BEng Civil Engineering (Hons) degree. Tom started with PDC in 2016 as a work experience student until joining full-time in June 2019. Over the past five years, he has balanced part-time studies with his role at PDC, progressing from Junior Technician to Civil/Structural Engineer. Tom now works on renewable energy, commercial, and domestic structural projects. 👋 Meet The Team Engineering Technician, Chloe Durrant, celebrates six years of being part of the PDC team this year, and when we asked what she enjoyed most about working here, she couldn't pick just one thing! At the top of Chloe's list is the great mentorship, training and learning from her knowledgeable colleagues. Following this is the varied work with different specialisms that allow her to experience many types of jobs. Finally, Chloe especially enjoys the Civil 3D modelling site designs that she works on. Having previously studied at Peterborough Regional College, she is now doing further study at Anglia Ruskin University in Chelmsford. On the work front, one of Chloe's more memorable projects to date is a commercial redevelopment planning application for two industrial units in Dereham. Chloe said: "This was very different from the usual projects I’m involved in and my first time doing planning work. It included a variety of planning, design work and management. It recently gained planning permission, so this is a great achievement." Outside of the office, you'll find Chloe walking Rafa (her dog), cycling, playing tennis, kitesurfing, and taking beach walks - Holme Next the Sea is a firm favourite. 🚶♂️We like a challenge at PDC. Our very own Jacob Bush took on the 36-mile historic Boudicca Way Walk to raise funds for a state-of-the-art bladder scanner for the Brundall Ward at the prestigious Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This was a cause deeply meaningful to Jacob and his family, as the ward played a vital role in caring for Jacob's grandfather. Determined to show their appreciation and support to the dedicated medical staff, Jacob's family and the kind-hearted nurses from Brundall Ward united to complete the demanding journey, highlighting their spirit of generosity and community. PDC was proud to sponsor Jacob and in total, they've now raised nearly £8,000. This magnificent amount will enhance care for elderly patients. #PDC #Norfolk #NorwichUniversityHospital #CharityWalk

This year's worthy charity of the year at PDC, as voted for by our team, is the Big C Cancer Charity. To date, we have held some in-house fundraisers including an Easter Raffle and an Afternoon Tea Bake Sale 🧁 We've been busy brainstorming, and on the list of fundraising to-do's we have 5k and 10k runs, a 5-a-side football match and a few more ideas in the pipeline, so stay tuned to find out more. 🏃 The Big C is a Norfolk-based charity for anyone affected by cancer at any stage, from diagnosis and treatment to life beyond cancer. 📢 At PDC every employee has a voice and a way for that voice to be heard is through the PDC Employee Forum. Why? The forum exists to create a space to discuss ideas and initiatives that could make the company a better place for everyone, as well as organising team building and charity events throughout the year. It's also the place where management can exchange ideas on the progress and development of the company and get feedback. Who? The PDC Employee Forum is an elected committee comprised of non-director employees who represent the staff. When? Meeting quarterly, the forum acts as a sounding board between the company employees and the management team. 🧑💼 The Benefits? “Being an employee forum member gives us an opportunity to represent our colleagues and raise any employment-related matters and suggestions in front of the management.
