Did you know… there is a Volunteer Centre in every county in Wales? The Volunteer Centre for #Pembrokeshire is based within PAVS. What’s a Volunteer Centre? A Volunteer Centre provides support at a local level for volunteering, for individual volunteers and for volunteer involving organisations. Simply put the Volunteer Centre (also known as Volunteering for Pembrokeshire) can help organisations with all things volunteering including: *Helping organisations to develop good practice in working with volunteers (template policy, sample forms, information sheets and toolkits). *Support with recruiting and managing volunteers (for those new to the role and those with more experience) *Training for volunteer managers (and volunteers) – some of it for FREE *Advertising and promoting your volunteering roles via Volunteering Wales, social media, at face-to-face events *Matching potential volunteers to your organisation, and making introductions *Promoting and Celebrating Volunteering, via the Volunteering for Pembrokeshire Certificate scheme (thanking volunteers for the hours they contribute) and the annual Pembrokeshire Volunteering Awards *Regular meetings, guest speakers and networking for volunteer managers/ supervisors through the Pembrokeshire Volunteer Organiser’s Network (PVON). We have recently taken up this offer from The Cyber Resilience Centre for Wales and found it to be a very useful and informative experience. As all things cyber continue to develop at an ever increasing pace, being able to access proper support, guidance and advice is so important and valuable when making sure that everything is as it should be.
