We're very excited to launch the stunning new logos for our colleague-led networks! ✨ 🤝 The set was created by illustrator and designer Carol Lewis, who took part in Penguin General's 2023 Portfolio Sessions for under-represented creatives. Carol collaborated with the network groups who fed in their ideas and feedback throughout the process 🎨 'I was incredibly excited to take on this project as it was something I had never done before. While I've designed logos, this project was a first with the challenge of creating a collection of nine distinct logos that not only captured the unique identities of each network but also harmonised as a cohesive set. Today in the Penguin Random House UK office we are celebrating transporting 1,000,000 books by train since we started our greener travel initiative one year ago! By moving books from our printers to our warehouse by train instead of truck, we have saved an estimated 140 tonnes of CO2e! The journey to climate neutrality can be a long, uphill battle, so it is important to celebrate the wins - big or small!

Wrapping up Libraries Week with a highlights reel from our Inclusive Libraries conference. We know that when children see themselves in books, they are more likely to read for pleasure and this, in turn, improves academic performance and supports good wellbeing. Diverse libraries are vital. They provide young people with a safe space to discover their identities, build empathy, and explore cultures beyond their own. In September, we teamed up with the The British Library and Lit in Colour (Penguin Random House) to explore race, culture, and identity in children's and young people's libraries. Literacy is for everyone, and librarians should be empowered to create spaces where diverse voices are heard and celebrated.
