We are thrilled to be participating in the groundbreaking 𝗔𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗧𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗪𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁, a collaborative effort between COL-TREE, the University of Antioquia (Colombia), and the University of Exeter (UK). This ongoing study, which began in 2018, focuses on understanding how Andean forests are acclimatizing to rising temperatures due to climate change. 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝘆 𝗗𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘀 - Scope: 15 Andean tree species - Temperature Zones: 3 (14°C, 22°C, 26°C) - Sample Size: 24 trees per species at each site, totaling 360 trees Petiole Pro 𝗥𝗼𝗹𝗲 Our free, AI-powered mobile application, Petiole Pro, has been instrumental in this research. It allows researchers to: 1. Assess leaf parameters without internet connectivity 2. Measure leaf area, greenness (DGCI), and leaf length 3. Conduct efficient data collection in challenging field conditions 4. Ensure consistent and accurate leaf measurements across different sites 5. Perform real-time analysis for enhanced research productivity 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 Petiole Pro's advanced features, including computer vision and deep learning algorithms, enable both destructive and non-destructive leaf area measurements. Its accuracy has been validated through comparison with traditional methods like planimeters and scanners. We are honoured that Petiole Pro is contributing to this vital research on climate change impacts.
