*British Heart Foundation flatlines Coronation Street’s iconic theme tune to raise awareness of heart disease research* On Sunday evening, PHD partnered with ITV Media to bring together British Heart Foundation and the UK’s longest-running soap, Coronation Street, for a first-of-its-kind media activation to raise awareness for heart disease research. Following the heart attack storyline of long-standing character Gail Platt, Coronation Street’s iconic end credit theme tune was dramatically changed with the sound of a flatlining heartbeat and an important message from the BHF highlighting the charity’s vital research into prevention, diagnosis, and treatment to help more people, like Gail, live longer and healthier lives.
