Finishing off the close protection course Capricorn Security Training many students ask how did I get into the job, all those 30 years ago there was not many who did the role, it was mostly ex forces or police as a civilian operator I wanted to break that mould I believe it is still the same timing and knowing the right people Having stepped back from operational roles and focused on teaching, do I miss the opportunity it has changed so much but I still believe there is a massive untapped market Also trust is a massive factor from the film stars to National football teams film premieres and supporting Government and Diplomats The only advice I can give to folk is build a trusted network find your niche Thank you for the opportunity in supporting others Phil Moulton FIMAS

A very short introduction to etiquette training for ‘bodyguard’ close protection I travelled to Scotland to a fantastic setting to start putting together a few clips and scenarios with my pal and camera guy Mike With the cooperation from Simeon Rosset who facilitated the filming A long day and crammed as much as we could in that short time My idea is for an advanced course which incorporates many out the box thinking and training watch this space thank you Phil

In 2016 I put together an awareness course regarding edged weapons, at the time I approached an awarding group but decided to go ahead with it CPD training The post which I put together on Sunday has reached over 170,000 people with some great insights and shares It is about raising awareness if caught up in a situation such as this and dealing with your own safety We know it will take many years to reform this situation has happened for many many years I have been confronted by a machete weilding person I did make the choice to run at them and was very lucky they were arrested later and returned to the location where she threw a firebomb at the building I would be interested in speaking with people about sharing knowledge and also learning Thank you and stay safe know your exit plan Phil Moulton

We often see posts for self defence and personal protection Where did it all come from was it Karate?? Martial arts stems back to the 1300s and maybe earlier in a time where swords daggers and other weapons were used freely The exact origins of karate are not recorded, but it's believed to have evolved from a combination of indigenous Okinawan fighting methods and Chinese fighting styles: Many see the diluted version of traditional karate as it has evolved into a commercial entity, the true meaning is empty hand where the application goes far deeper not the Kumite (fighting style) we see or the Kata which is now so fast it is very impressive (bunkai) kata application has been lost by so many on my own journey my aim is to try and revive the art of the unarmed combant We talk about defending yourself you must first learn to understand that mindset I do teach many subjects my real passion is the true meaning of the empty hand No disrespect to any other art or systems Phil Moulton

Train to be effective and win I have shared this clip many times how traditional karate has become “sport” and diluted it is so important to develop that mindsets of winning There will be many karateka and martial artists on this platform and there will be many none practioners of any I believe you get what you put in your training I have many question the effectiveness of my art karate (as that is what I have practiced for 54 years) One thing I get asked regularly Would it work in a fight one big thing I tell people there are No referees in the real world Nobody to shout “YAME”stop No time limit And more than one person at a time if you can avoid the situation that positive mindset can give you that confidence but it is “combat” It is ironic I hate violence pretty strange considering I have competed at every level and suffered many injuries we trained semi to full contact with little protection and my job for the last 30 years has been protecting people from violence I do believe that my years on the mat served me well in learning to control which is a transferable skill to anyone It is like any fighting art it is only as effective as the person who is delivering it and we must remember in controlled environments It doesn’t matter what art or fighting craft the first thing we learn Is discipline Self discipline You are accountable It must be justified It must be reasonable And at the very last resort Awareness of those capabilities I do teach away from the physical intervention and these courses are very specific they are NOT beasting sessions Phil Moulton 9th Dan Black belt Former World and European karate champion Ranked 4th in the world USA

After the assignation attempt on Donald Trump there will be lots of questions and conversations why and how was this allowed to happen Our thoughts should go out to the families who were affected by this tragedy To those who have worked and trained with me my ethos about protecting the client Layered principles If you look at the picture apparently he was 120 metres away as reported Standard Operating Procedure for a evacuation on a device is 100 metres 200 metre and 400 metres then the RV point 500 metres If you have the resources use them I was asked to do an operation many years ago in the centre of Manchester when a former Prime Minister of country who took over a football club was attending a concert my role was to advance and how spotters on high rise areas (with the permission of those involved) my team were tasked to oversee the area and report to the teams on the ground I am a civilian operator not a military or police Think out of the box I always say check the RV point and work in and keep checking Stay safe Anthony Laing (NOMAD)

Former World karate champion Author 9th Dan black belt Trainer in self defence and Situation awareness Nominated for the Most Positive Role Model award

In September I am launching my enhanced close protection project designed for those who are looking at developing skills which have served me well in understanding how to offer the best for the clients This will include subject matters and practical advice and learning more about those “soft skills” that many have never learned How many clients own horses, ski, take private aircraft it is not about being a pilot or a skipper or even run the hardest runs on the piste Each section is CPD accredited and is open to male and female who are already SIA CP licensed It is not a jolly or a bit of fun the course is aimed at engaging people to develop these skills so they themselves get out of the fish tank of looking at the same job thousands of other people are chasing It will be split into 5 sections each module is 3 days as an introduction Profiling to get the facts right!!! Safe handling of a boat RYA Skiing Equestrian and basic horse riding and livery Aviation and communication Finally a full operation This is for the serious operator who wants to invest in themselves for thier career Prices and information available my making contact by email philipm1960@gmail.com or direct message to me many thanks Phil Moulton
