In response to the House of Commons’ proposed planning reforms, like the reintroduction of mandatory local housing targets, The Home Builders Federation has expressed its support. This target of 1.5 million new homes over the next parliament, as well as delivering a huge increase in social and affordable housing, is set to be a challenge. One of the biggest obstacles will be the skills shortage within the industry.
