What a glowing tribute for the PIPMG event for the Life Science projects community.
In the Life Science community, we are managing complex programs in an increasingly challenging environment. 🔬 So, when it comes to project management in this industry, is innovation our friend or foe? This was a topic for discussion at yesterday’s PIPMG meeting, superbly organised by Pauline Stewart-Long, Keith Rodgers and Jacqueline Abbas PhD. A common theme throughout the event was the importance of the patient's voice, particularly acknowledging the patient not just by their pathology, but as a person. The best approaches to patient engagement in medical innovation both start and end with the patient, from patient to science, science to solution, and then solution to patient. Excellent presentations were given by Graham Price, Daniel Swerdlow, Dr. Panteli Theocharous, Alison Gillies, Nitin J., Joanne Broadhead, Ian Murray and Olúwágbémilékè (Gbemi) Jamie. Each of these experts shared their experience of navigating development challenges, from cell and gene therapies to companion diagnostics, to regulatory strategies and more. Huge thanks to Elizabeth Thomson and Clive Lambden and the UCB team for being such excellent hosts and to all those who attended! It was fantastic to see such great participation in the workshops. I’m really looking forward to round two in May 2024 and further PIPMG events between now and then!
